Posted on 01/27/2006 8:38:03 AM PST by ken5050

The Senate meets at noon today, again in Executive Session, for the 3rd day of debate on the nomination of Samuel Alito to SCOTUS. Not sure, what, if anything, will happen today..Will there be a filabuster?..will anyone show up..might be work while checking out the beginning of the session, to get the lay of the land....

Chuck54---this is meant as no offense to you...it is just that poor Cboldt gets asked so many questions during a thread...and spends so much time posting links and answers...I think we should dub him the "Answer Man"!!!

I understand the frustration, I've asked a few today also. Wouldn't it be cool if there was like a bulletin board on the front page that gave some pertinent advice of the day?

>>I'd like to see Kerry do a 'real' filibuster. See how long he can stand there, reading, reciting, speaking, before boring himself to sleep.

I'm afraid of just the opposite. John F'n Kerry is the only person in the world mesmerized by his "brilliance." It might be like a perpetual motion machine. The more he heards himself talk the more excited he gets. Of course, everyone else within hearing distance would be bored to sleep in short order.

This is a media stunt to take the spotlight away from the upcoming SOTU address on the weekend talk shows.

Yawn.

Why are they coming out saying this

Non of these Senators are part of the Gang of 14

It doesn't matter how Clinton, Dodd, Reid or Fienstein vote

I want the nuke (Constitutional) option to take it out once and for all! I want the next nominee to get an up or down vote and the filibuster off the table, just like it was pre-Tommy Daschle days.

So Kerry is driving the moonbats in this thing? I see they are going after Collins and Snowe big time? Do they get most of their money from the dark side?

Frist should have pushed this for cloture yesterday and a vote today (IMO).

Looks like it. That is why Dean is having a hard time raising money compared to the Republicans.

They are calling Byrd, Collins, Snow, Landrieu and Salazar in droves.

It's all PR.

You can't believe anybody about anything until something happens.

I have a pit in my stomach that tells me there will be a filibuster... Frist should have never rolled over on the Nuclear Option last year...

"Then I think we can firmly ensconce Kerry into the AirAmerika, DU, Daily KOS...KOOK wing of the Democrat Party...don't you??"

Those are the groups that are pushing a filibuster.

nevertheless I am in panic mode

There is no need to panic; regardless of what ANYBODY says, even on OUR supposed side; they will never filibuster.

If they filibuster, Frist will pull the trigger; when the dust settles, Bush could nominate Karl Rove and there wouldn't be a damn thing the Democrats could do about it.

I thought I read that Soros had some say with Collins, Snow and McCain. Am I right or did I dream it? I can't imagine Landrieu wanted to cross the President right now with so much still riding on money for NOLA.

But, Howlin, WILL Frist pull the trigger? Last Friday he said he wanted this ended by today and there would be no other business conducted in the Senate until this vote was taken. It was all hot air. Frist says a lot of things, but what can we point to that he has actually followed through on????
