It is possible Mr. Bush will get another Supreme Court nomination before his term ends.

We sure hope so!

Unfortunately, to get another Bush nomination passed into the court, republicans will need to have 60 republicans in the senate with no RINOs. Democrats know that they would die as a party if another republican gets into SCOTUS and they'll use whatever weapons are at their disposal, including a fillibuster. But, I would be happy with one or two more republicans in the SCOTUS.

Works for me. Besides, you can't kill what's already dead.

I think that the days of "Borking" are officially over. Alito is exactly the sort of nominee that the mainstream media said that we'd NEVER get approved (i.e., a solid conservative with a paper-trail). His success proves that as long as the nominee is extremely smart and extremely qualified and has the support of the Republican base, we can prevail.

everybody think ahead a little to 2006 and 2008 elections.
get a conservative leaning republican president elected and then we could really get things going in the right direction. we need 3 more right-minded justices to even begin to repair the havoc that activist judges have wreaked on our society in the last 30 years. that is something to get excited about and i hope that right-minded citizens get involved in sufficient numbers to allow us stronger control of congress this november.
