WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. John Kerry has decided to support a filibuster to block the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court, CNN's Congressional Correspondent Ed Henry reported Thursday. Kerry, in Davos, Switzerland, to attend the World Economic Forum, was marshaling support in phone calls during the day, Henry said.

John Kerry does not realize how he has damaged his own party. He is also damaged goods and nothing but a loser who appears to be very unhappy.
To: West Coast Conservative
Hmmmm..I guess this futile attempt confirms his candidacy for 2008. He'll never learn.

Something tells me the Dems will only filibuster if they know they don't have the votes to maintain it. They're trying to throw a bone to their wacko base.

NO! PLEASE let them FILIBUSTER!We WANT them to filibuster so that we can invoke the 'Nuclear' option and prevent ANY future threats to filibuster judicial nominees.

I want this to happen. It will finally use the Constitutiional option and end this nonsense once and for all. It will not hurt our side if they ever get back into the White House. Their president would have the right for an up or vote on his nominee. If the nominee gets out of committee, that is how it should be.

Why on earth would we set the precedent of allowing a fillibuster of a supreme court nominee to stand?
Those lilly livered sap suckers better go nuclear.
To: TBP
Voting FOR Alito is different than voting to STOP filibuster - just keep that in mind re: some Dems who may bend over backwards now for the DU-loons but end up voting for Alito - even though I still think a sustained filibuster will not fly at this point as well.
To: clawrence3
He's not worried about them right now. First he has to win the nomination and to do that he needs the moonbats.

Yes, I believe Feinstein said that just last week. So that makes
at least 61 votes for cloture at this point. Kerry can filibuster in his dreams.

Ok, somebody has got a problem with counting here.
Let's see:
55 Republicans +
Nelson
Johnson
Sheets
Salazar
Landrieu
I see 60 votes for cloture here...

He's "Calling" for a filibuster. He got on the phone, called filibuster. It answered. We have the transcript below. ".....ah......hello...." "Phil! This is John Kerry." "I....oh......ow....why'd you wake me up?" "I'm calling you, we need you to stop this Alito guy." "What's your name again?" "John Kerry." "Ah.....Kerry...Listen John, to quote from the Hustler, 'John, you're a loser. And I don't back losers." "Hello? Hello? Hello? Sir? Anyone? Hello?"

He's just trying to win favor with the moonbats. He knows this isn't going anywhere.
