You are wrong.

It's media hype.

There are thousands of emergency room visits each year caused by dog bites. The leading dog in this parade is, I hthink, either the lab or golden retriever.

Its just that retrievers don't make good news stories.

Pitt bulls do.

The whole thing is a trumped up hysteria.

10 years ago they did the same things to dobermans. When's the last time you saw a story on dobs?

They've fallen out of favor with the press, but that doesn't mean they still don't bite people.

As far as a pit or any dog, being alone with an infant, well, that's just dumb.

I don't trust my mini pins with an infant, they can do real damage.
