Not long ago, one of my grandsons -- who I watch CLOSER than I watched my own son -- started complaining about his throat hurting; he was really crying; I went downdstairs to get some ice for his throat because I couldn't see anything wrong with his mouth or throat.

Barely gone sixty seconds, the older two started screaming Come quick........I came back upstairs and there stood the four of them (all under five) AND MY HUSBAND, staring a shinny new penny this kid has thrown up.

Stuff happens.

I've got 3 kids. My 2 year old last week swallowed a peppermint, which I must add wasn't given to him, and came to me crying and holding his throat. At first I thought he was choking but then I heard him take a deep breath. He grabbed his throat again, so I bent him over and whacked him one between the shoulder blades. Out pops the candy!

Stuff certainly does happen.

Our son swallowed a dime once but it passed on through his system. Yes, I had to actually "watch" for it and "retrieve" it. eewwww I kept that dime and will give it to him someday when he isn't still squeamish about it. LOL
