American Idol homophobic?
According to entertainment and celebrity website TMZ.com, officials at the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) are fuming about the Fox show's attitude toward gay people.
GLAAD is mad about the acerbic comments that Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson made to contestants on the show's debut a few days ago.
"Shave off your beard and wear a dress," Cowell told one would-be contestant, while Jackson asked another male reject, "Are you a girl?".
GLAAD also notes that Ryan Seacrest and Cowell regularly exchange on-air insults, each implying that the other is gay.
Me too. Not in tune of course, but I can caterwall with the best of them! ;oD
points. it's much easier for me to hold myself accountable that way. I like being able to keep track.
What did Zarchary's sing, you ask?!?
Artist: Whitney Houston Lyrics
Song: The Queen of the Night Lyrics
I've got the stuff that you want
I've got the thing that you need
I've got more than enough
to make you drop to your knees
'Cause I'm the queen of the night
The queen of the night
Oh yeah, Oh yeah, Oh yeah, Yeah
Don't make no difference if I'm wrong or I'm right
I've got the feeling & I'm willing tonight
Well I ain't nobody's angel
What can I say?
Well I'm just that way
Hey, ey
I've got the stuff that you want
I've got the thing that you need
I've got more than enough
to make you drop to your knees
'Cause I'm the queen of the night
The queen of the night
Oh yeah, Oh yeah, Just say it, say it, say it
'Cause I'm the queen of the night
The queen of the night
Oh yeah, Oh yeah, Oh yeah, Yeah
You've got a problem with the way that I am
They say I'm trouble and I don't give a damn
But when I'm bad, I know I'm better
I just wanna get loose
And turn it up for you, baby
I've got the stuff that you want
I've got the thing that you need
I've got more than enough
to make you drop to your knees
'Cause I'm the queen of the night
The queen of the night
Oh yeah, Oh yeah, Just say it, say it again
'Cause I'm the queen of the night
The queen of the night
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Yeah (Oh yeah)
(etc.)
Ummm... I forget... is it "gore" ...
... or is it "dean"?
LOL! A trio would be even better!
This is the site Drudge linked to this weekend. The queers have been pretty much told what peope think of them there.
Yep, that's what "he" says.
Homophobia (IMO) is just another way the liberals go about explaining everything. If you don't like something then you must be racist, or you must fear them, etc. Nevermind the problem behind what you don't like...
I have no problem with gay people. It's the shoving their "agenda" in my face and making it OK to be gay, that I have a HUGH problem with.
And I am NOT afraid of "gay" people. As long as they aren't trying to convince me that they are "normal" and that being gay is acceptable behavior, I'm cool. Because I am strongly against homosexuality. It is wrong in my book. And my book is the Bible.
If I was young enough I would give it a shot. I'll just stick to singing at church.
Zachary was asked to tell them something interesting about himself. He was the one to bring up what bathroom he used not Randy or Cowell.
I found that if I switch my points on Saturday and save my points all week then the weekends are not bad to get through. I don't use all my points every week but the cushion is there if need be.
"If you're not one, you're a 'phobe" bump.
Exactly. I rarely have used all my points either, unless I go out for a few beers. That'll eat them up fast!
I just like that you can still have things you love, just less of them. Save points for a real treat that you want, etc.
Hmmm. Surprising.
I was under the impression that about 90% of the people on the show and at least 2/3 of the regular viewers are probably 'gay'.
"Shave off your beard and wear a dress," Cowell told one would-be contestant, while Jackson asked another male reject, "Are you a girl?".
I watched that show with my wife. The two comments in question were necessary... The first comment was towards a "guy" who sounded like a woman. The second was a "male" who was wearing girls clothing, had a very feminine hairdoo, sang a song (poorly) by a female artist, and looked like a flat-chested 13-year-old girl (or a very flat-chested 16 year-old). I have seen many girls who have looked less feminine that that "guy".
Simon Cowell
Whom folks want to disembowel
Always opens his mouth
Says something foul
Clay is homosexual???? < / sarcasm > My wife says he is just a bit feminine.....
I don't believe Zachary was a plant. The cattle-call auditions draws the freaks like flies--most of them just want to be on TV. But poor, delusional, incredibly confused Zachary really thought he had a chance at being the next Idol, IMO. Just look at him. If his "mom" never told him that he couldn't wear women's clothes, then she probably never told him that he couldn't sing either.
Sounds like the Ukrainian gal from the first or second show.
She would have been right at home dancing with a pole, with very little clothing. I think if it were up to Simon, he'd have had her come to Hollywood, for at least the first round.
Don't know the Greek word for `hate', but I do know that the Greek root `homos' means `the same'. `Homophobia' is a bastard child. After all, it means `fear of homos', half slang itself.
If the word `homophobia' were correctly interpreted, then it would mean `fear of those who are the same as oneself'.
Gee - if I'm a `homophobe', does that mean I have an irrational fear of other straight heterosexual conservatives who own guns?
