Are results usually known for Canadian Parlimentary elections the same day?
Yes, we should know by the end of the night. It will be a long night though as the country spans 5&1/2 hrs worth of time zones.
Yep, but apparently what's going on this time is that a results ban has been put in place. Meaning, no results will be given (over Canadian websites, anyway) until all the polls have closed in the country.
As a tip, checking out a place like Captain's Quarters blog might be good for earlier numbers (supposedly they're working on it -- it's an American site).
we'll start hearing results soon from the east coast...but no one cares about us here in the maritimes...but usually the rest of the country votes as they see it on the east coast...or it could be the other way around :D
Final results should be projected at around 10pm ET tonight...
Results usually come out within 30-45 minutes of the polls closing. The polls close at 7:30pm EST in the Maritimes, 9:30pm EST in Central Canada and the Prairies and 10pm EST on the Left Coast.
I believe the results were tallied sometime last week.
