Is the KC-130 "Hercules" firing flares because its under attack? Or is this just a training mission?

Does anyone else beside me see the Eagle behind the KC-130. It's unmistakable. Some kind of a sign. What does it mean???

It's smoke, and the picture wreaks of editing.

Several years ago someone sent me a video file "Angel Flares". it was this film and you can see why it was called Angel flares.
If anyone has this please send a link.

That's the most beautiful shot of the KC-130 flaring that I've ever seen, thanks for sharing.

I've seen this live as well, and it is an awesome sight - the 'wings' are the wingtip vortices (low pressure above wing, air curls over wingtip) swirling the smoke up & in.

For a few years, a C130 would show up around dusk and circle my house for an hour or so. I always guessed it was from Hurlburt. Probably actually circling a nearby church. The sound of the engines is fairly distinctive although every now and then I think I hear one and it turns out to be some commercial aircraft.
I was thinking a few months ago, that I haven't seen one in over a year.
