Wife Just Returned from Seeing End of the Spear (Vanity)
Vanity | Timmy

Posted on 01/20/2006 8:01:00 PM PST by Timmy

My wife just returned from seeing End of the Spear (opening night) with other ladies. She said it was amazingly powerful, and a must-see for all believers. For those who are not familiar with this movie, it is the followup to Gates of Spendor, about the five young missionaries martyed in Ecuador in the 1950's. After they are killed trying to reach this primitive and dangerous tribe, their wives approach the tribe and actually live with them for an extended time, bringing the Good News to them. They are now a Christian people, saved because of the incredible courage of these faithful people.

I encourage all to see this movie. A portion of the earnings go to missions.

I've heard a lot about this movie, but was afraid it would have Hollywood wierdness in it somewhere. But your report is encouraging.

I too have seen it and not only is it a good message but it is a well-crafted film in its own right.

Chad Allen on the set of 'End of the Spear' A weblog has stirred chatter across the Internet and talk radio over a homosexual actor's role as a famous missionary in the newly released film "End of the Spear," which opens tonight in 1,200 theaters nationwide.

Chad Allen – whose activism has been celebrated by 'gay' media – plays Nate Saint, one of five missionaries killed in 1956 by a notoriously murderous tribe they were trying to reach with the Gospel. The compelling story doesn't end there, the film shows, as relatives of the slain men continued the seemingly impossible venture, leading to the tribe's remarkable transformation.

I think it was this morning, that "Fox and Freinds" had on the son of one of the slain missionaries, along with one of the natives that killed his father..

I can think of no greater example of christian forgiveness than that..

Sigh. Why don't you give it a rest, and go enjoy a good movie about Godly people.

So?

The question is: did he put on a good act?
Is a homosexual part written into the script? - No. what's the problem?

I must say that the movie itself was gripping and graphic in its violent scenes but not overpoweringly so.

I saw your earlier post and must admit that I had not seen much at all about the movie or the one actor's proclivity previously.

If one can overlook that item, it was overall a movie about real events and was done as well as could be expected otherwise.

This has been posted a few times. However, this guy does not portray a gay person in the film and the film itself is pro-Christian.

No. what's the problem?

The problem is he couldn't pass the litmus test. Where does this end? Do the actors have to be virgins if they are not married? Do they have to swear they never masturbated? 5 people died to bring christianity to this tribe. WHY?

Unfortunately, sometimes Christians justify the charges of being self-righteous hypocrites. "Let him without sin cast the first stone."
