What you seem to be forgetting about the U.S. Flag Lauralee is how many of those stars and in particular, how many of those 13 stripes represent the South.

The Confederate battle flag IS an American flag. That's why it was called the Confederate States of AMERICA. Besides....don't you New Yorkers have that gay rainbow flag or something?

Clearly, you live by "stereotypes" and "outlines" of history. When most Southerners talk about the confederacy -- they are talking about being forced to submit to a power.

Not the slavery thing. Although there are some groups who use the confederate flag to play "racial" issues games. These are the exception.
