The subject of this debate is the simple assertion that God is beyond the purview of science, not every discipline of science and all of its many expressions. We are discussing a principle as embodied in a single statement. Those who adopt the principle that God is beyond the purview of science are not neutral about the matter, but atheistic. They've taken a stand that will by its very nature color the inductive and deductive reasoning that follows even though the principle itself may not be specifically spoken.
But it is plain as day that the statement "God is beyond the purview of science" not only singles out God, but excludes God. That makes it an atheistic principle by definition. That also makes it unconstitutional for any judge to pronounce this principle as the only one worthy of consideration in a public, academic context.
