So in the end your vote wouldn't have mattered.

One vote by itself isn't enough to swing most elections, but, as a practical matter, if enough people don't vote for a candidate, he won't be elected.

The so-called "Religious Right" want Bush and other Republicans to promote their agenda. If they succeed in taking over the Republican party, then the non-"Religious Right" will be forced to choose between voting Republican, not voting, or voting for a third party.

And the Democrats will take over again.
