The opening to "Roundabout"(even though I've heard it and heard it and HEARD it) sets the stage for an unforgettable musical ride. My favorite Yes song-please don't make me pick one,I'm so torn.
As far as guitar riffs, who hasn't played air guitar to "Smoke On The Water"'s opening riff?
Let's first say this is for the SONG not the artist as a whole. You coulda hit one song and be called the greatest by the standards of this question/survey.
That being said...this is not the case. Greatest guitar player of all time is too broad. My list would read, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Page, Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Ted Nugent, Johnnie Winter.....
"Stairway" is still the top of every greatest rock song of all time list. Year after year, decade after decade. Think about it...every minute around the world somewhere a Led Zeppelin song is playing...for 35 years going....says it at.
Robert Plant, Jimi Page , John Paul Jones and John Bonham were/are the greatest rock musicians/group of all time.
Jeff Beck rocks.
Wow.. I saw them do that SO LONG ago at the California Jam.. a huge 2 or 3 day festival in the early 70's. Sabbath, Deep Purple, ELP ...a bunch of others. I was only 13 or 14 years old.
My Dad forbid me to go.. I went anyway and was in the worst trouble of my young life when I got back.
Um, four fans are alive and breathing!
