I think they believe 1300 is needed for the +/- 3%.

That may be; it's been over a year since I studied political statistics. What the class really taught me was how easy it is to lie with statistics.

Back before there were professional polling enterprises that did this for a lucrative living, research organizations that didn't do it as a profession exclusively -- like universities might have conducted an occasional scientific poll but now it's being so misused and abused as to be totally worthless.

The questions are biased; the population sample is biased; conducted by a biased individual; reported to a biased media, primarily for financial considerations, etc. How many red flags do we need to have before we come to the conclusion that the only reason these polls exist is to manipulate opinion and not measure it?

Glad you learned. It is just one more "usful" trick of the MSM (primarily), but EPA, Dept of Energy, Homeland Security, HUD, partisan legislators, DoD, Dept State, Education, Labor, the Clinton's.....

Hmmm...they all seem so expert...
