At least the mainstream media published a detailed story about the crime and the victims. The victims were actually the center of the story rather than the killer(s). Contrast that to how Tookie was portrayed as virtually another Socrates if not the Second Coming of Christ, and the victims were nameless, faceless non-persons whose existence and fate was something no "compassionate" person need think about.
