Yep, patton, for 19 years I woke up every day saying, "This is the day I will finally ruin my life and reputation and my family's lives and reputations and take out some random kid. All I need is an excuse, dammit!"
??? Larry, I said the notion was silly. Or are you being sarcastic?
Every day for 19 years I woke up saying "Today is the day I make a sarcastic remark and leave off the sarcasm tag!"
:-)

You hit that one right on the head. Its time they stop using stereotypes to explain the human crisis that confronted those officers and the limited choices they had.
We had a neighboring agency that just went thru the "pulled a fake gun and got shot" scenario after a three county pursuit last week. It wasn't a teenager as far as I know that was shot
Oh what joy it is when we can give our days meaning.
Truly though I hope you never had to face the situation the police in Longwood did. And I thank you for your years of service.
