The great man's name was W. Cleon Skousen, not Cleo as in the title that Human Events assigned to it. Possibly no one on the HE editorial staff knew of him.

Most conservatives over the age of 40 do, though, and many of us have the utmost respect for him as one of those who kept the flame alive during the darkest years of the '60s when this country's intellectuals were preaching a "merger" between capitalism as practiced in the West and Communism as practiced in the Soviet Union and China. Skousen and a handful of others held fast to the idea that the United States of American was special and should never compromise its ideals of freedom and individual rights, no matter what the rest of the world thought. He sincerely believed that our Constitution was divinely inspired, and that our success as a nation can be attributed to the blessings the Creator bestowed on the Founders as men of wisdom.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

I was fortunate enough to have met him, He was a friend of my fathers and I took a class from him at college. He and my father were both with the Bureau. He was a very good man.

I'm embarrassed to admit I've never heard of him. But that will be remedied shortly. If he was the warrior this encomium presents, he deserves his own niche in the conservative pantheon.

Thanks for the notice. I have numerous tapes of many of his speeches, and never tire of listening. "The Making of America" his book dedicated to the Founding Fathers is a much read study of the Constitution of the United States of America that resides on one of my bookshelves as well as the Thousand Years series. I don't think I know of anyone quite like him. A speaker and writer, I have respected for years.

RIP to a wonderful patriot, with many thanks for his brilliant writings. I attribute my awakening to several of his books which I eagerly read back in the "old days."

He was truly a trailblazer and well ahead of his time!

(BTW, if you have any sons read "So You Want to Raise a Boy." I highly recommend it. Little boys have been under attack since the '60's and he was one of the rare people who predicted the trend.)

The Cleansing of America, narration (The Cleansing of America, narration) [Audio CD/Hardcopy]

By W. Cleon Skousen - Valor Publishing Group (2010) - Hardback - 170 pages - ISBN 193554621X

Dr. W. Cleon Skousen spent the majority of his life researching the gospel, the U.S. Constitution, the founding of America and writing numerous books and articles on the topic, and he is one of the most well-known, respected defenders of America and the gospel the world has ever known.

At the time of his passing in 2006, his work was not finished. His book The Cleansing of America, written in 1994 and given into the care and keeping of his sons, is now being brought forth for the first time ever. Included in these pages are the events and stages the Lord has predicted, through his servants, the winding-up scences of this world. It helps the reader understand: the nature of prophecy, the known chronology of prophetic events, and the importance of staying close to the Lord and his prophets during the difficult and challenging years prior to the Second Coming.

We are fast approaching those prophetic events. Some are upon us even now. « less. more »

The majesty of God's law [Book By Willard Cleon Skousen - Ensign Pub. (1996) - Hardback - 644 pages - ISBN 0934364206

The entire code of God's law is carefully enunciated in five chapters of this book. Under this judicial system there are only about a hundred statutes required to govern a community, a state, a nation or the world.

But this is only possible when these laws are in the hands of wise and virtuous judges.

In order to make this system work, the people must be taught the law and then they must enter into a solemn covenant to honor and sustain its precepts.

Someday, God's law is coming to America.

It could come rapidly after a period of cleansing and reform-even in our day.

W. Cleon Skousen Is Asked to Write The Naked Communist. Written in November, 1998 by Earl Taylor, Jr. Also including the words of W. Cleon Skousen
