Come on, guys, if Mrs. Alito cried, I'll bet that she wishes that she hadn't done that and would greatly appreciate it if we all pretended not to notice. The last thing that that good woman would want is to become the focus of attention and take the spotlight off of her husband's stellar performance.

If I was in Mrs. Alito's shoes, I'd have been fighting back tears of anger and frustration too. I know that good folks will not insult her for that, but I also agree with you and bet that she probably wishes she hadn't shown her misery. I know I would have felt that way later. I also think I'd probably have gone home and found an outlet for my emotions. Perhaps a nice big picture of ole Teddy and a handful of darts. LOL

Tears of anger over her husbands treatment and tears of frustration because there was nothing she could do about it. I don't see that as anything she should be ashamed of.

Regretting one's tears and being "ashamed" of them are two different things, IMO. I don't think she should be "ashamed" of them either, but I can see how I would have regretted showing any emotion when being bullied by the likes of the Dims and Kennedy.
