BTW- Has anyone else noticed Alito is ALSO not using any notes? I was stunned when Roberts didn't use them- but this is a double whammy- great intellects and grounding in these two men.

As compared to the Democrats, who can barely read the questions typed out for them by their staffs...

Sure have. He only just TODAY has jotted down a few things, when being asked multi-faceted questions.

The intelligence is stunning to me.

It makes me wonder if they are concerned that the democrats will subpoena them in order to draw answers they want.

I have noticed Alito has no notes, which says quite a lot considering his 15 years of rulings on the 3rd Circuit. Just as impressive as Roberts, if you ask me. He has more experience than Roberts too. I think having been a federal prosecutor is a big plus.

No offense to her fans, but can anyone seriously imagine Harriet Miers surviving this kind of experience -- with or without notes?

Alito is a genius. His "performance" (otherwise known as "being himself") is masterful, and outdoes even Roberts.
