O.K.

Somebody please tell me what I missed. Why was this poster banned.

I am starting to get tired of this "IBTZ", "Viking Kitty", B.S.

It's like a bunch of 6th graders. What is with all of the itchy "abuse button" trigger fingers around here.

I may be stupid, but I didn't see any reason for an account ban here. Maybe it was "cleaned up" to protect my sensibilities.

Used to be, we welcomed dissent here because we knew we were right, and smart enough to debate it.

Not any more.

"Viking Kitties" is a crutch for those too stupid to debate and defend the truth.

Please check the poster's sign up date, his juxtaposition of this issue with "This is the last straw. First they take my Baby Jesus from the front of City Hall. Now they're coming after my beer" in his reply #1, and replies #139 & 223 if you have any further outraged inquiries as to "why was this poster banned?".

I'm not responsible for your reading comprehension, after all, or the dubious skills contained therein.

I am starting to get tired of this "IBTZ", "Viking Kitty", B.S. It's like a bunch of 6th graders. What is with all of the itchy "abuse button" trigger fingers around here

That's fine by me: I never once used such a phrase as "IBTZ" or "Viking Kitty" in this thread--or any other that I can recall. Nor did I hit the "abuse button" on this poster (you'll just have to take my word on that, unless a Mod wishes to weigh in).

What I did do was welcome the poster to FR, for what I was pretty certain would be a short stay. I was correct in both my politeness and my prediction. Kindly vent your splenetic ramblings along these lines elsewhere.

I may be stupid...

*Ahem*

...but I didn't see any reason for an account ban here. Maybe it was "cleaned up" to protect my sensibilities

I had to leave FR shortly after this thread commenced, and was only able to return for brief replies. But as far as I can tell nothing from the troll's OP--not even his reply #1--has been "cleaned up." You really should ask before you imply, and inquire before you accuse. It's the mannerly thing to do.

Used to be, we welcomed dissent here because we knew we were right, and smart enough to debate it. Not any more.

This, I suspect, is an analysis of many cranky bores and their perceived grievances on lonely barricades and, FWIW, it's wrong: I've seen tons of "dissent" expressed here on many different sides of all kinds of issues for years right up to, well, today at FR--and right in this thread. By you, among others, no less.

Imagine that...

But, to your larger point, allow me to observe that most FReepers in good standing participate here within a broad conservative framework & consensus; that "debating" other conservatives within those twin--and rather wide--parameters is often rigorous and exciting enough; and that, further, if we wanted to "debate" leftists, trolls, and other such moonbats there are literally millions of chat rooms, online forums, and blogs that facilitate such encounters. Speaking for myself, I come to FR to share with, learn from and, yes, "debate" other conservatives.

Your complaint along these lines is weak.

"Viking Kitties" is a crutch for those too stupid to debate and defend the truth

Again with a phrase I've never used, in a context I've never indulged in: "in forum" search of posts is your friend. Failure to employ it before flaming is indeed a "crutch" of the grumpy, and the weak-minded.

I love cold beer, BTW.

Carry on.

Number one, this isn't a debate site, number two, you're in no position to insult anyone's intelligence, and number three, if the zot threads aren't to your liking, don't read them.
