Boy, Fox News is stumbling all over itself to explain the miscommunication. This is so sad for the families.
I agree, while it is extremely sad, I don't believe the MSM is too blame this time. The families were given wrong information, it was info they desperately wanted to hear, who can blame them, it was a very emotionally charged situation, the families were actually heard and seen by the media, they reported what they were seeing and hearing.
That said that was terrible and should be investigated as to who told the families they were alive, it wasn't the MSM.

Their first clue should have been that there was NO press release from the mine officials. Didn't they suspect that was odd? Why didn't anyone question why they had heard nothing official?
My guess which is as good as anyones right now, is that someone thought they heard they are checking THE vital signs when what they said we are checking FOR vital signs.
Perhaps they should have CONFIRMED the story. They could have reported that the families were reciving good news but that they haven't confirmed it yet.
