I agree it was heartbreaking but USC wasn't robbed --- they gave away the store. Carroll should have called for the TO. But after all he has done to build up that team, I don't fault him too much. Stuff happens.
VY would have had 4 more shots at the TD if they had called that and would have more than likely got the PAT, in all reality it actually helped USC in the long run that they didnt call that.

Are you high? Even if the play had been called back, Texas has the ball on the Trojan 11-yd line. On the next play, Vince Young scores a TD anyway.
With the other 'blown' call (the interception by Texas), USC would have lost possession of the ball. That is far more severe than giving Texas another chance to score eleven yards out.
They explained that the monitor up in the review booth was rebooting or something during the downed forward-lateral play.
