On January 4, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. (PST) the Rose Bowl Game will host the BCS National Championship, between USC and Texas once again showcasing the best of collegiate football in "The Granddaddy of Them All."® The Rose Bowl will be broadcast exclusively on ABC and on ESPN radio.
USC came to play...
Texas came to win...
I am a FSU fan-- I lost the other night, but tonight I won...my team won. I just hope FSU builds back up and wins the damn national championship games.
I hope he comes out this year. I gave the same advise to Lienart last year... He should have listened.
I would have liked to see Auburn at least get the chance to play for the championship.
USC is a great team - no doubt about it but playing in the Pac-10 reduces the number of true challenges and greatly lessens the chance of injury.
USC's talent greatly exceeds that of anyone in the Pac-10. It wouldn't be that way in the SEC, Big-10 or Big-12. In the ACC, they'd have at least three games with teams of equal or better talent.
That's why is is hard for teams to go on long runs in the SEC, Big-10 or Big-12. If Ohio State, LSU, Texas or Auburn traded places with USC, the odds are very high that they'd have won 34 straight games as well.
Daddy's genes - in both cases
yeah, if he would've walked across town, he could have taken that job from Heath Ledger.
What in the Hell are you talking about... all the media wanted USC to win again. Even the sports media hate Texas--it's Bush's homeland after all... everybody with a damn microphone or a byline wanted USC to win.
It's amazing how much clout that man still carries here. He got Brad Henry elected - ok - that stupid song helped, too
Texas earned it, they showed true heart with all those cramps and people getting hurt, an that #5 player getting his arm broke late in the game... They still hung in there.. they deserved this win.
VY would be a perfect fit for the Titians....Steve McNair has been his mentor. VY has been a regular attendee of Steve's football clinics.
No, this loss isn't Reggie Bush's fault. The Greeks were up by a lot late and they blew it.... the people trying to make this Bush's fault are misguided.
I think so too. Championship games are more NFL type games. Carrol went to White in this game...but White did miss that critical 4th and 2.
And how amazingly easy it would be. Other than eliminating the forced matchup of USC-Texas in the Rose (by allowing either the bowls to revert to their old selection order out of the BCS 8 or a straight rank seeding) nothing would have changed up to this point. All that would happen now would be UT and Penn State would host on campus games in a week and a half, then a national title game the week after or the Saturday of Superbowl weekend. How much better would life be if Texas was now facing LSU, and Penn State against WV?
After all the injuries and controversy...you guys did well.
Hmmm... If i were a an SC fan im not sure where I would lay blame on this one... I guess it would have to go to the USC defensive line or lack there of.
I can't argue with any of your points....
;' )
Seriously, Vince Young moved on them effortlessly.
Or Mike Ditka, with VY instead of Buddy Ryan.
Unfortunately that might be a while. I don't think that Bowden is near the tactical or strategic coach that he once was.
He has been winning with superior talent for quite a while (just like Mack Brown, Phil Fulmer and to a lesser extent Bob Stoops) but with the re-emergence of Miami and UGA, FSU is not able to dominate the recruiting in Florida and Georiga any longer.
I really like FSU by the way.
