Remember the Pew poll, the one looking suspiciously skewed recently? North Country Gazette reviewed it in depth.

Schism grows between God and the devil. Wow, imagine that. (my words)

NEW YORK, Jan 9 (IPS) - The news stories chosen as the Top 10 of 2005 by members of the "righteous-wing" of the Republican Party offer significant insight into what U.S. religious conservatives consider most important.

I have gratitude and admiration for Paulos, for his work in digging through the poll and sharing his findings.

How neat that he found that opinion is shifting toward supporting life!

I noticed the poll had the meaningless question I always hate to see

All in all, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the way things are going in this country today?
The pollsters don't provide an opportunity with that question for people to say which directions they prefer things go in. Liberals don't like trends to the right and conservatives don't like trends to the left.

A poll in 1993-94 might show democrats happy overall (optimistic because Clinton was president) and conservatives happy overall (optimistic because of an increasing conservative influence on national politics).

Excerpt sptimes link above: "In a coup for Tom Gallagher, Zach Zachariah, one of the country's top Republican fundraisers, said Monday he planned to help the chief financial officer's gubernatorial campaign."
