Well, if you support NASA or not, you've got to admit that they did a fantastic job on the rovers. Heck, if the agency functioned as well Spirit has been doing, we'd have settlements near Andromeda by now.

Well, maybe that's an exageration.

IRS could not permit Andromeda settlements - how on Earth could one tax their activities?

I credit the engineers and private companies that build the rovers. They caught and corrected NASA's screw-ups.

It is still time to privatize NASA. Citizen scientists could raise funds and decide what are the best priorities.

Yes, I agree, Nasa is a useless, bloated leach, but these rovers are certainly spectacular little devices. I say we load up 1000 rockets, and shoot these rovers in all directions and explore the heck out of the solar system.

"Opportunity is rolling to an enormous depression known as Victoria Crater that is thought to hold more clues about the planet's past."

I predict a future headline: NASA Discovers Victoria's Secret on Mars

The Spirit and Opportunity rovers are astounding success stories for unmanned space exploration. Major kudos to NASA and their partners for this fabulous mission.

what is the big deal with 100 mph wind?
the 'air' pressure on Mars is less than one percent
that of Earth.

what is that, maybe 10 mph wind on Earth?

Great idea! Then we can privatize the US Army, and citizen soldiers can raise funds and decide who to invade.

Congratulations to NASA, but no matter how successful these rovers are it's not going to stop our politicians from spending hundreds of billions of dollars to send a politically correct human crew there.
