Posted on 01/01/2006 10:22:42 PM PST by presidio9

Arizona senator John McCain could win the 2008 presidential election in the United States, according to a poll by Zogby International. 52 per cent of respondents would vote for the Republican in a head-to-head contest against Democratic New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.

In 2000, McCain won seven GOP presidential primaries in the U.S., but retired from the race after eventual nominee George W. Bush became the frontrunner.

Rodham Clinton was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2000, defeating Republican Rick Lazio by 12 per cent. She ruled out a presidential bid in 2004. 37 per cent of respondents would vote for the Democrat, while 11 per cent would back other candidates or remain undecided.

Bush is ineligible for a third term in office. The next presidential election is scheduled for November 2008.

McKook will do great among "all adults." His problem comes in that about a third of Republicans wouldn't vote for him if he was the only candidate running. Like me. I'd rather we get another lesson in Clintonistics than have McKook take us back to the Ford or Rockefeller days.

McCain and Condi are the MSM's Republican Posterboy and girl respectively. They are the two potential Republican candidates guaranteed to lose to Mrs. Clinton.

With all due respect, you're hugely wrong about Condi. The MSM despises her. Rice is an unapologetically conservative black woman. That is something the MSM cannot comprehend, as they expect all intelligent black people to speak and act as if they were characters out of the Boondocks comic strip.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

I am a firm believer in that ALL knowledge is a useful thing to have, especially one that proves Ben Frankln's words:

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy!"

I live in NY, and I have known Rudy for about 10 years. I wouldn't call him a friend or anything, but I have played golf with him and been to his house for parties. Trust me on this one: The reason he's not running is because even he knows he can't beat Mrs. Clinton anymore. She's got that senate seat locked up for as long as whe wants it, and if she loses one presidential election, that will not be the last we hear from her.

I don't mean to say that they actually LIKE Dr. Rice. I mean that they desperately want us to shoot ourselves in the foot by making her our candidate.

If "we the people" want President Bush for a third term, we should be able to have him.

No, fortunately, we don't live in a pure democracy.

And we have this little thing called 'The Constitution' that says we can't have him.

And you aren't going to amend that by 2008.
