Goofy as this story is, you do have to view it as a further disintegration of morals, certainly of spirituality. Obviously the rite of marriage is made a mockery of.

As to perversion, dolphins are sexually promiscuous and they do "molest" humans in the same way your cocker spaniel might be happy to see your leg. Some folks have even been injured as a result.
