I don't want to see the Temple back though I know prophetically it will happen. The Bible doesn't say that such a temple is a "good" thing but rather a place in which the "evil one" in human form throws down the gauntlet and commitx unspeakable blasphemies againt the anointed one of heaven! A temple in which animal sacrifices are once again in motion denies the "final" sacrifice of Jesus for all of our sins; these would serve to declare the his death on the cross was non-effectual for the remission of our transgressions.

The notion of a rebuilt temple is not a good thing, and not one to have misty eyed romantic notions about. That it will happen, is a part of God's plan though no where does it say he looks favorably on its building. We do know that God will take great offense at its desecration...not so much the temple itself but rather the defiance of His Glory that its desecration represents.
In that sense, does he call it "My temple" when he declares "The Lord whom ye seek shall suddenly come to his temple, as the messenger of the Covenant whom ye delight in, behold he shall come, saith the Lord of Hosts".

God will indeed make the whole Earth his temple,"For the knowledge of the glory of the Lord shall cover the Earth as water covers the sea."

Could you imagine if the Jews set up their temple again, and restarted the animal sacrifices? CNN would be all over that, and PETA would start blowing their whistles and throwing buckets of red paint here and there. Everyone on Brokeback mountain would swoon simultaneously.

Actually, according to Sha'ul (Paul), it will be the Temple of God (2 Th. 2:4)--that kinda automatically makes it a "good" thing in my book, the fact that the Adversary will invade and desecrate it (as Antiochus desecrated the Second Temple) notwithstanding.

Oh sheesh.

Keep in mind that the Jewish view is that the Temple might have been destroyed because of Jews following the blasphemy of Christianity. After all, Judaism was never big on the idea of human sacrifice.
