In my opinion, everyone except convicted criminals and the insane should have the right keep a handgun in their vehicle.

I'd say anyone who's not currently locked up. I don't like background checks, and anyone who's not fit to defend himself in accordance with the Constitution isn't fit to be walking (or driving) the streets either.

Agree ....not happy about renting my RKBA's from the state at all but it's the best game in town right now while I fight the polidiots to make it a gimmie as does Alaska & Vermont etc .....

If I get near a big city I swap the 1911A1 for a high capacity nine loaded with 147gr OSM and three spare mags for just the reason mentioned in this article. Albeit I am aware of the ballistics of a 2 ton vehicle doing 30mph being a bit better than a 230gr slug from 45 acp doing +/- 850fps. Guns as taught are a very "last resort" for me.

Not enough. I'm too old to take a chance. I keep a loaded 9 round short barrel Mossburg pump loaded with #2 buck shot. Sits right in the middle of the two front seats. I'm not going to die because of some idiots idea of PC.
