"Jeez----impeachment? That's a bit much...this President is already doing his job times ten and the work that should of been done before him."

I agree, but there is more he could and should be doing. If he would just stand up and say "Enforce the Law", and tell Chertoff to do his job, we could solve this problem.

According to Visa International--which is now clamoring for a share of the transfer fees--American money sent South of the Border by illegals constitutes $38 BILLION this year alone constituting Mexico's second largest most profitable industry.

Secretary Snow and The Wall -- Earlier this month, U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow paid a friendly visit to Mexico. He met with his Mexican counterpart, Secretary of Hacienda Francisco Gil Díaz.

Snow and Gil Díaz talked about the importance to Mexico of the earnings remitted to  home communities  and families by migrants in the United States. The two secretaries announced that they had reinforced their commitment to reduce the costs and to facilitate the sending of those family remittances.

Snow said that success hinged on the introduction of private competition to the remittance market, which had reduced the cost of sending money from the U.S. to Mexico by two-thirds since 1999.

I did not grow up close to the border, but in West Texas. My father was a doctor with his own hospital. He complained more than once about watching a car drive around the block numerous times, until it would pull in to the ambulance drive, just in time for the mother to have the baby.

He knew he would see little, if any, money for this delivery. This complaint from a man who would forgive any payment, or take rabbits, etc., or other type of barter for pay.

The man has alot on his plate the last few years.....hopefully he will get to this border problem in the next few.

Thanks for the realtime affirmation.

God knows how many times the illegals pulled off this scam, while the US taxpayer keeps paying and paying and paying.

The sense of entitlement these people have is outrageous-----that the rest of us owe them a living.

And that professionals, like mathluv's father, and the US government, exist for their convenience.

One sad part of this is that my father died in 1970. This memory is from the 50's.

It's going to take a few more terrorist attacks on WASHINGTON DC and a lot more American deaths to get the Congress to enforce borders and refuse citizenship to illegal babies.

It is not new. There is just a much larger number now, and more reason to be concerned afterr 9/11.

Anchor babies have always been desired.

What we need to do is bring this issue back to the front of the debate. The 14th amendment does not grant citizenship to children of illegals!

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.

These illegals are not "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" therefore they and their children are not citizens. We need to find a way to get this to the Supreme Court and stop creating anchor babies. They are not citizens!!!

What we need to do is bring this issue back to the front of the debate. The 14th amendment does not grant citizenship to children of illegals! All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. And when those "anchor babies" start voting---watch out.

Did you know that California has its own state-funded SSI/SSP program for illegal aliens? Reform needs to start at the local level and work its way up. That is the only way it will work.
