LONG LIVE RED CHINA (Would you like your troll mein with soft or crispy noodles?)

China will never go down, and don't think you can banish communism. Because the people won't let it. They know they are the last standing, they are the only ones left. America is in a decline while China's climaxing, America will go down. We are just done with our prime, if anything, we were going into a depression since 1992 (and don't say you don't know that year). Communism is the American's medias' worst nightmare, because of censorship. I hope we all have to read one newspaper and wipe my butt with one brand of tiolet paper. I hope we all die for our next generations to wear the red armband. We deserved 9/11, and they enjoyed it. You probably hate me now, I know, you just still think like its 1945, well too bad its 2005. We only stand to fall.

I hear tell how the Indians used to call the Wasatch Front The Place of Smokes because of the foggy/dusty winter inversions.

Yes, they did. They were also smart enough to make their villages in the foothills because Utah Lake had a tendency to overflood its "banks" periodically.

Utah Valley was in dire straits in the mid '80's because Utah Lake threatened to wipe out about five miles of I-15. I've only been there once or twice since then, and I haven't seen the same area, so I have no clue what they did.

I was also at the top of Payson Canyon when Lake Thistle came into being...even took photos...

Being raised in low country that flooded easy, I see people buying property that I know is going to flood, just from rain water. And when the lake rises again, who's going to be crying?

I've been through something like 3 or 4 100 year floods, and a lot of rainwater flooding. When you're watching the water cover your porch and get within two inches of your stoop just from rain, you learn a thing or two.

If it flooded like that where I live now, most of Ogden would be under water. There's a certain freedom in that feeling.

My visits to Ogden were mostly around HAFB, so I'm not familiar with the town itself.

But you can't stop a flood. (As the chocolate mayor of NO found out....)

Can't stop a flood. But if you're smart, you don't live in a hole, either.
