God I hate stupid people...

Why do I bother getting into arguments like this? Eventually they will piss me off to a point where I say something stupid and get sidelined by the Mods again. I hate that.

Thanks for the driving instruction links. Primus is still years away from even learning how to drive, thank goodness.

How are you and yours doing?

Just the usual check in.

Mcxlplx has gained another pound and is growing like a weed. The vets are pleased.

I had noticed, the other night, that some of his "parts" were becoming more prominent and mentioned to the hubby that it would soon be time to "lop off Mcxlplx's fuzzy wuzzies".

Primus, who was in the room at the time, looked at me and said, "Fuzzy wuzzies?". I nodded my head.

As Primus is undergoing similar changes, I could just see the wheels turning, new neural pathways forming, until his eyes widened. "Oh," he said. Then, eyes widening even more, "Ohhhhhhh!" He fell to the floor convulsed with laughter.

It was the best moment of the day.

>> ...teaching my brother and me to drive was what really shortened his life.

See, I'm willing to lay out the money to have someone ELSE teach the kids, in THIER car, OFF the road, in a CONTROLLED environment, AND teach them properly, while I sit back and relax.

The kid gets really good instruction. I keep my blood pressure down. My insurance agent doesn't break out in hives.

It's all good!

LOL! Not an issue that's come up for us. The late Agnes was spayed long before we had children, and the lone surviving gerbil is a celibate female.

I looked at those links. Some of the programs look affordable :-). We probably have something like that available in this area, since we're a NASCAR center.

You're welcome. Keep those links on file and start saving those nickles and dimes. Those driving schools are good, but they're not to be had on the cheap. Of course, if that expense provides training the prevents even ONE accident, then the whole thing's paid for right there. My bet is, however, that over a lifetime of driving, this training will prevent MANY accidents, not just one.

Me and mine am doing okay. I've a project that just got pulled in by five days, so that's five fewer (not less) days that I have available to finish my work. Yikes! That'll keep my screen name scarce for another week or two.

Family are all healthy; no colds/flu and looking to keep it that way.

You might enjoy touring the audio archives at sermonindex.net. Someone else turned me on to it and I've since listened to some old messages by D. L. Moody and Leonard Ravenhill. There are sermons by Tozer, Spurgeon, Booth and many many others to be found there. It's really interesting to pull up the older ones and compare their styles with modern stuff.

Must go. Probably only a post or two, today, after this one.

Be well.

LOL! Yeah, they're not cheap, but they're less costly than the fallout from a single accident, and I think that's a good perspective to take on the subject.

Hope you find something comparable nearby. These two are the biggies, but certainly not the only ones out there.

Alas, work beckons from the desktop and I must be about it.

Have a great day!

Jeez, DC...that's a can of worms over there! I thought the godess was arrogant and a little on the stupid/stubborn side, myself.

But it also looks as if she is not capable of accepting anyone's opinion but her own. Nor is she willing to admit her philosophy is flawed.

Sorta like Babs, since she quoted her...

Yeah... she might be on other issues, but not on this one. "Yes we have RKBA, protected from Feds. But the States are just fine stripping you of your RKBA with simple statutes or State level legislation."

Utter horse-hockey.

I taught my son to drive in a mobile home park, while he was delivering papers. They had wide concrete streets, and enough traffic and differing terrain to make it good. He finished his training in the desert, between cotton fields, then on secondary roads. He then went on to work in the motor pool in the army, and he can now handle any vehicle, under almost any condition. I trust him. (And I'm a very nervous passenger because of a car accident when I was a passenger...nearly killed me.)

I've had to modify my thinking on this issue over the years. You really need to learn to dump personal bias and public school indoctrination. I've been reading through Elliot's Debates from the Constitutional Convention. If anything, I am understating my position. It is actually kind of frightening to step back in time, read what the delegates argued over and agreed to, and then compare that to todays Federal and State governments.

We are a LONG, LONG, LOOOOOONg ways away from what we are supposed to be. We have shed almost every ideal they held sacred.

I think the liberals have twisted everything for so long that even those who really know are a bit confused at times. And even if they aren't confused, they are not really HEARD!

We need to get back to basics and cut the crap.
