Republicans, when they return to the Senate and House next year, had better be up to speed on this matter and ready to defend the president. I'm sick of their mealy mouthed half arsed defense of this administration.

Agreed but I'm not going to get my hopes up. I live in Iowa and Republican activists get courted quite heavily by presidential wannabes. Friday I got an e-mail from Senator Frist trying to impress me about the help he's giving on student aid.

I fired back a letter telling him I am not interested in student aid. I'm interested in national defense. His e-mail just knocked him off my list.

You mentioned that we need to make a stink about this in order for it to get any traction with regard to Rockefeller, who should be kicked off the committee ASAP.

Like Delay, Rockefeller needs to be removed from the committee as long as he is under investigation.

These are the same people who scream their "constitutional rights" all the while wanting to take our second amendment right to keep and bear arms from all Americans.

They can stop whining anytime - and the fake tears won't work either!

The demorats are the same ones who were calling Daniel Ortega in 1978,79, and pledging their support for him, just after his goons murdered Samoza. How did we know that? The NSA was tapping the Demorats in Congress phones!

But, the communist President Carter would have never done that, right, and Ted Kennedy never drove off a bridge and left a young lady in the car to die either!

Now, of course, when their god 'clinton' did this, that was fine, great, had to do it.....but because President Bush is trying to keep all of us safe, and is walking in line with the Constitution of the United States, why that is just terrible, how could he do such a thing, etc, etc....just like a stupid 'rat'....

What I think is impressive is making a post which does not lead off with a TO: xxxxxxx field.

The CIA 'hired' Wilson to spy on sales of 'ore' from the President of Niger to Saddam.

TWICE, they hired him. Each time they discarded policy and law, allowing Wilson to skip the disclosure contracts.

The reason Joe was selected was at the suggestion of his wife (here one must speak Venusian to realize that means she offered the bribe money to her boss, and he took it), and the fact he was going to Niger on company business.

Joe's company was down in Niger brokering a sale.

Guess what of and for who?

But 10 years of experience here have taught me that the most carefully written opinions are not always carefully read - even by those most directly concerned.

Nomination for QUOTE of the YEAR.

Does anyone know who these "leaders of congress" were?

One of them is obviously the leak.

Who is pulling their strings?

A very difficult and complex question.

The Russians had things to hide. They took the WMD's to Syria and other containment facilities.

The French had things to hide.

Joe's first wife worked for the French government. The 'false' document shows sales ore going on, but has been exposed as a lie. So, no sales went on? Well, the false papers were there to divert others from seeking the real papers.

The CIA, which was supposed to be investigating this, was encouraged by Bill Clinton (and ordered) to ignore the truth, take the money, pass on Bill's cut to his offshore bank account.

During the Bush Admin. certain CIA members are fighting to keep their jobs, their bloody money, and out of jail.

Certain Democratic politicians up the line got their share of monetary support from this as well.

There are many guilty parties to this treason, and they are all fighting for their lives.

Evil, greed, crime, lust for power and fear of losing it are the strings. That is why you see the insanity that is prevailing around us.

Thanks...while I might have differences with some of the particulars outlined I am in agreement with the premise. There are multiple interests and players involved. During the Cold War the Middle East served as a game board for the superpowers...in my opinion Putin and Chirac still see it as such.
