Another Bad 48 Hours
Washington, DC - Two days ago, President Bush took to the podium for a nationally televised news conference to explain why he approved a secret program to allow America's surveillance apparatus to spy on American citizens. Because he failed to give candid answers about the program, leaving so many unanswered questions, the President's explanation has been met with a parade of bad news in the last 48 hours.
"President Bush's own words, members of his own Party, and even a FISA judge contradict and reject the President's explanation of his decision to spy on American citizens," said Democratic National Committee Press Secretary Josh Earnest. "The fact that President Bush told the American people that all wiretaps require a court order two full years after ordering warrantless wiretaps calls into question his already sinking credibility.
"Even members of the President's own party have joined Democrats in demanding that we fight and win the war on terror in a way that protects our fundamental freedoms and liberties. It is time for the President to end the secrecy and tell the American people the truth about his domestic spying program."
48 Hours of Bad News for President Bush
Media Reports Bush Previously Promised "Court Orders" For Wiretaps Media organizations yesterday aired video of a 2004 speech in which President Bush assured a Buffalo audience that whenever the U.S. government seeks wiretaps, it gets FISA approval. President Bush's campaign rhetoric directly contradicts his actions as President. His comments were made more than two years after he authorized a secret program to allow the government to spy on Americans without court approval. [Los Angeles Times, 12/21/05]
FISA Judge Resigns in Protest on Bush Domestic Spying Program The Washington Post reported today that U.S. District Judge James Robertson,

Can anybody tell me how monitoring international phone calls is a "domestic" spying program?
Amazing how the Democrats and the MSM can twist their words to make a ridiculous acusation.
So what do the other 10 judges say? I would say an agreement on 10 of 11 isn't bad. That ratio is good enough for Congress to make sweeping laws and spend billions of dollars. But Bush needs a unanimous vote to do anything? Yeah, right...
Don't worry. This propaganda is already old and stale. More and more experts are coming forward and saying the president had every right to do what he did. The only mystery now is what lie will the Dems/MSM come up with next week to slander the prez.
Uh, Dummies, he did NOT take to the podium to explain a secret program. He took to the podium as you say to answer questions on anything.
Ya know, I used to get so angry at these Enemies of America(DNC and their elk) but now I'm laughing I see a party and a people who are so self destructive and so helpful to our side and now appreciate everything they do for us. I see a party if they continue on the path their on may literally single handly destroy their own party and their power for years. Their behavior is so treasonist, so selfish, so disgusting I cant imagine even a majority of their own voters putting up with this disgusting display.
Oh, when they said bad 48 hours, I thought they meant them! LOL
Given that President's Carter and Clinton both claimed this authority and Clinton used it numerous times doesn't seem to have deterred the left. Their amnesia is quite amusing.
Mark Lavin has been all over this the last two days. He's just now getting over but here's the link:

I agree. When Democrats talk, I immediately think of this guy.
even my mom, a dyed in the wool bush hater, is on his side on this one
I guess Nancy Pelosi missed this memo. She has already said that she was briefed and approved these actions.
They only listened to the American half of the conversation, dontcha know.
Democrats are running out of body parts to shoot themselves in.
I am not an O'Reilly fan...I think he tries to straddle the fence way too much...which makes a poll on his website interesting, IMHO>
He had the question about whether the President should have the right to eavesdrop on telephone conversations if national security is involved..
He said 50,000 people voted....90% said yes...10% said NO...
I guess that really proves how BAD of a 48 hours Bush has had, huh? LOL
A pattern is starting to develop with all these phony, baloney "resignations" from the courts and intelligence agencies. It appears the DemocRAT moles are being "outed" by the adults who are now in charge.
Nope; not even the Dems can explain that one.
