HOUSTON The wife of the pastor of the nation's largest church was asked to leave a plane after she failed to comply with a flight attendant's instructions, the FBI said Tuesday.
Houston Lakewood Church pastor Joel Osteen, his wife, Victoria, and their two children boarded a Continental Airlines flight from Houston to Vail, Colo., Monday. The plane's door had been closed when Victoria Osteen and a flight attendant had a disagreement.
"She failed to comply with the flight attendant's instructions, and they were asked to leave the flight," FBI spokeswoman Luz Garcia said without elaborating on the disagreement.
The FBI reviewed a report from Continental after the incident, Garcia said. No charges will be filed, she said.
The flight was delayed more than an hour while the Osteens' luggage was retrieved, Garcia said. The family took another flight to Colorado, where church spokesman Don Iloff said they were skiing Tuesday.
Iloff called the disagreement with the flight attendant "minor" but would not say what happened.
"In semantics, they might have been asked to be removed," he said. "Really, it was more of a mutual thing."
Continental spokeswoman Julie King would not discuss the disagreement but said in a statement that the situation was resolved.
Osteen's sermons are broadcast across the country and his book "Your Best Life Now" has become a best seller. His church has more than 30,000 worshippers weekly and meets in a renovated arena where the Houston Rockets once played.

Ms Osteen had no business having her tray down in the first place. Those are not supposed to be down until the plane has taken off and is well into the air.
It sounds like she is just a spoiled diva who is used to being waited on hand and foot. Obviously if they have no problem with holding up a planeload of people for two hours they expect flight attendants to drop everything else they are doing to get ready for takeoff and be at her beck and call.
If she expects that kind of service she should travel with a personal maid and valet.
Thank You Gal Grl.
An alley-cat mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Airline employees have to have the power to direct misbehaving people from their trouble making. If Victoria "Do-You-Know-Who-I-Am!" Osteen doesn't follow directions she should be treated like any otehr person who is disrupting a flight.
What makes you think that he does? If he doesn't preach the Word of God how can someone be changed?
You can have them down until the plane shuts the door and pushes back. Since 1st class boards first, it's not unusual for people to have their trays down.
The only question I want to know is how anyone could respect someone that is on TBN.
In a nutshell.
Was your point that if a preacher does any good, they should be rewarded? If so then you should really like those in the picture. The people at TBN are a bunch of grifters. Anyone that doesn't speak out against them should be ashamed of themself. And anyone that would have their show (Joel Osteen) on TBN is just as slimy as those running it.
The other oldest profession.
His father was amazing... Built the church from the back of a feed store to one of the biggest churches in the states.
I saw a good show about the life of Mother Teresa on TBN....
Did you send the Crouches any money to say thanks?
I lived next to one of these charlatans in TX. I knew right away what he was. Later, I heard lots of stories about his parishoners and how they would give their last cent to him, etc. Our whole street couldn't stand the guy. His only topic of conversation was how many "things" he owned. Cars, property (slumlord) etc. etc.
He finally moved because he said our neighborhood was too "uppity"!! We just weren't impressed with him and he wasn't used to that.
How do we know that the flight attendant wasn't somebody who resents ministers and church people? From all we know about this situation -- which is basically nothing -- it's as possible that the flight attendant was at fault as Mrs. Osteen. (Are we sure the flight attendant was a woman, and not a gay man?)
Is it possible that 1) the flight attendant doesn't like Christians; or/and 2) the flight attendant is a gay man?
Was the flight attendant a woman, or perhaps a gay man with a burr up his b-tt about ministers and church people?
I don't like Olsteen in particular, but I have no problem if a preacher who is doing good and may experience high pressure in his job goes skiing. I don't even mind first class.
