This domestic spying crap bothers me. If the imperial federal government can arbitrarily point to you and say, "he is a spy" then what stops the government from doing anything else?

That's a gross mischaracterization of what's going on. There are specific requirements for getting one of these surveillance taps (basically, being in contact with known or suspected terrorist elements), and each one is periodically reviewed to ensure that the reasons are still legit. Even with the expanded authority they're working under, they can't bug you "just because" -- they still need to have a solid reason for initiating surveillance.

You gross it all you want friend. If you want cameras on every corner, in every hall, in every elevator, in every store, like England has, you go for it. I don't like it. That is my feelings and I stick with them. You can belive what you want. I will what I want.
