"Missile attack is a warning from CIA (Interesting item in Pak. newspaper)"
Daily Times ^ | Monday, January 16, 2006 | iqbal khattak
Posted on 01/15/2006 7:08:45 PM PST by indcons
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "KHAR, Bajaur Agency: The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States may not have achieved its prime target, the No 2 Al Qaeda leader Egyptian, Dr Aiman Al Zawahri, but the January 13 air attack on Damadola village in Bajaur Agency has certainly left a deep psychological impact on the tribesmen.
The tribesmen believe that the attack was a warning not to host foreign guests in the future. We spent the next day and night in fear and when we heard planes we run out of our homes to avoid a second tragedy, 35-year-old Sadiqullah Khan, whose house was destroyed in the attack, told Daily Times."

"Islamic group urges Catholic school to move to Muslim faith"
The Scotsman ^ | Jan. 16, 2006 | Hilary Duncanson
Posted on 01/15/2006 8:45:35 PM PST by Alouette
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "AN ISLAMIC campaign group has called for a Catholic primary school to be based on the Muslim faith.
The Campaign for Muslim Schools said 90 per cent of pupils at St Albert's Primary, in the Pollokshields area of Glasgow, are Muslim, yet children are having to take part in Catholic rituals like saying the Lord's Prayer and attending mass.
Osama Saeed, co-ordinator of the alliance of Glasgow's main mosques and Muslim organisations, said he could see no reason why the main faith of the school should not change."
Amen Donna Lee. Praying payback for them is swift and not necessarily merciful. Already accused ME traitors are using this to their advantage in court cases. There seems to be no outrage, but it'll come after the next attack, no thanks to the @$$hats of whom you referred.
Court documents filed in Exinias case make frequent references to his position in the notorious Gulf Cartel. The paperwork also contains details of a December 2004 incident in which he tried to secure transportation for 20 Middle Eastern terrorists waiting to enter the United States from Monterrey, Chiapas and Puebla in Mexico.
Yep, it's disturbing.

Hi KingOfHearts.
Happy New Year to you.
Just an FYI to let you know we're on a new thread.
If liberal politicians have their way, there'll be no need for any form of security in this country before long......we're certainly headed in that direction on the fast track.....
Military strike to deter Iran a last resort
Fear Factor - Is nuclear Iran $150.00 oil?
Missing inventories at nuclear waste dump
N. Korea to use nukes if US invades
Swastikas linked to Russians in Canada
Anti-American sentiment in Canada may escalate to turning point in relations
Snip: The Germans propose in a telegram that Mexico becomes Germany's ally with a view to recovering Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. The telegram is intercepted, hastening the US entry into World War I.
A major victory against illegal immigration - in Massachusetts
Snippets: Apparently, people are sick of the games and the giveaways and the corruption and the pandering associated with illegal immigration. They are sick of the concept of citizenship being treated as some sort of anachronistic technicality. They are sick of politicians believing they can do anything to get one more vote from illegal interest groups and that the citizens they are supposed to serve will never do anything about it.
And they are sick of working by the rules everyday under the burden of heavy taxation and regulation just to see their money frittered away on the undeserving -- while opportunities for their own children are threatened. So people -- a lot of people -- began to call and email their representatives and communicate to them how passionately they opposed this silly, corrupt bill.
The response was overwhelming, and politicians finally began to worry more about losing lots of votes from average citizens than about gaining a few extra votes from the criminal alien lobby.
"America is fighting for its sovereignty today, argued Rep. Marie Parente, a Democrat from Milford, explaining her vote against the bill. Consider how far we have come when Pat Buchanans words begin coming out of a Massachusetts Democrats mouth. They probably agree on nothing else, but they are both firmly in the new mainstream on this point. The canary in the illegal immigration mine just died. When enough people speak, even politicians begin to get it. There is hope.

"Missing inventories at nuclear waste dump"
ALAN MacDERMID January 16 2006
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A spare set, supposed to have been transferred to the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency by the Pollution Inspectorate, has gone missing.
A spokesman for the British Nuclear Group (formerly British Nuclear Fuels) said: "We are doing two lots of investigations: one is to find out exactly what is in the pits, and the other to determine what we should do with it. However we know it is in a separate category known as very low-level waste."
He said that the public had access to the area, but "it has now been fenced off because of the drilling equipment we have working there to take samples"."

With Iranian nuclear aspirations gaining notice, it's worth directing attention to the growing relationship between Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Venezuela's President Hugo Chávez. The Reagan administration repulsed Soviet efforts to set up camp in Central America. Iranian designs on Venezuela perhaps deserve similar U.S. attention.
The warmth and moral support between Ahmadinejad and Chávez is very public. The two tyrants are a lot more than just pen pals. Venezuela has made it clear that it backs Iran's nuclear ambitions and embraces the mullahs' hateful anti-Semitism. What remains more speculative is just how far along Iran is in putting down roots in Venezuela.
In September, when the International Atomic Energy Agency offered a resolution condemning Iran for its "many failures and breaches of its obligations to comply" with its treaty commitments, Venezuela was the only country that voted "no." Ahmadinejad congratulated the Venezuelan government, calling the vote "brave and judicious."
Three months later, in a Christmas Eve TV broadcast, Chávez declared that "minorities, the descendants of those who crucified Christ, have taken over the riches of the world." That ugly anti-Semitic swipe was of a piece with an insidious assault over the past several years on the country's Jewish community. In 2004, heavily armed Chávez commandos raided a Caracas Jewish school, terrifying children and parents. The government's claim that it had reason to believe that the school was storing arms was never supported. A more reasonable explanation is that the raid was part of the Chávez political strategy of fomenting class hatred--an agenda that finds a vulnerable target in the country's Jewish minority--and as a way to show Tehran that Venezuela is on board. Ahmadinejad rivals Hitler in his hatred for the Jewish people.

"An open letter to Germany's chancellor"
Jan 16, 2006
by Diana West
OPEN LETTER SNIPPET: "Good morning, Madame Chancellor.
Here you are, Germany's Angela Merkel, on your first trip to Washington, D.C., preparing for your meeting with President Bush. As you look out of your Blair House window over Lafayette Square toward the White House, consider the historicity of the era: the beginning of Mr. Bush's fifth year leading his country, and the beginning of your first year leading your country in the so-called War on Terror.
Or is that the War on Guantanamo Bay? I get them confused.
That's because in just about every account of your American trip -- biggish news in Europe -- it is prominently mentioned that Guantanamo Bay is prominently high on your list of, well, prominent concerns. Trouble spots. Global things you lose sleep over.
This is, with due respect, bizarre. Iran is going nuclear, Europe is going Islamic, Russia is going off the reservation, China is a fearsome thing, and your big concern is sending what is called a "clear message" to Mr. Bush about Guantanamo Bay, the tropical jail where the United States keeps jihadis on ice -- and keeps the rest of the world safer as a result. But that's not what you say. "An institution like Guantanamo can and should not exist in the longer term," you told the German news magazine Der Spiegel this week. "Different ways and means must be found for dealing with these prisoners."
I have a suggestion: How about if we ship all these guys -- unflushed Korans and all -- to Germany? Maybe "72 Virgins" Airlines would cut us a deal. Then you -- Germany -- can parole them to Lebanon.
That, of course, is just what you did just before Christmas with Muhammad Ali Hammadi, the convicted Hezbollah killer of Petty Officer Robert Dean Stethem. In case you didn't know, Mr. Stethem is one of our American heroes, a courageous young Navy diver who became an early casualty of the war on Islamic terror. In 1985, at age 23, he was beaten to an unrecognizable pulp by Hammadi and his gang, shot through the head and dumped onto a Beirut runway during the Hezbollah hijacking of TWA Flight 847. But, as his brother Kenneth reminded President Bush in a letter this week posted by Michael Ledeen at National Review Online, "He wouldn't give in to the demands of the terrorists," who wanted him to scream into a transmitter for airplane fuel. "He would not allow the honor and dignity of America to be intimidated by the fear and pain that Hammadi and terrorists everywhere represent."
Such is the Hezbollah terrorist that you, Madame Chancellor, set free. And funny thing: Shortly after, your own German hostage in Iraq, Suzanne Osthoff, was released from captivity. Which is quite a coincidence."

Abu Ghraib Detainees Released; Bombs and Weapons Found in Iraq
American Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON, Jan. 15, 2006 Hundreds of security detainees were released from prison today, and multiple bombs and weapons caches were discovered in Iraq over the last few days, U.S. military officials reported.
About 500 security detainees were released from Abu Ghraib prison. Those released were not guilty of serious or violent crimes, such as bombing, torture, kidnapping, or murder, and all have admitted their crimes, renounced violence, and pledged to be good citizens of a democratic Iraq, officials said.
In other news from Iraq, a young girl phoned in a tip about a possible roadside bomb to coalition forces yesterday, after she saw a white bag in a hole on a road in southeast Baghdad.
When coalition forces investigated, they found a man hiding in the grass by the road, four masked men in a car, a man carrying an AK-47 assault rifle and two suspected triggermen in the prone position. Coalition forces prevented the terrorism suspects from carrying out an attack, and an explosive ordinance team disabled the bomb, officials said.
Troops from the 3rd Battalion, 1st Brigade, 7th Iraqi Army Division, discovered a bomb under a pile of hay near Ramadi after receiving a tip yesterday.
A bomb squad responded to the site and found a 155 mm round, a 12-volt battery, a washing machine timer and a radio base station. A bomb team disarmed the device and recovered the contents for later analysis and disposal.
Iraqi police also found a bomb made from a bag of explosives wired to a cell phone yesterday in Tal Afar. A bomb squad was called to the site, and the bomb was moved to a safe location and destroyed.
No injuries or damage were reported in any of the incidents.
Coalition forces found two large weapons caches Jan. 13. The first consisted of various rockets and rounds, blasting caps, a roll of detonation cord, a G3 rifle, a grease gun, an RPK machine gun, and six 50-pound bags of suspected bomb-making material. The second cache included recoilless rifles, various munition casings and numerous mortar fins, rifle springs and empty magazines.
