Maybe he's hoping to scare Iran into doing something that will give away where the "good stuff" is. :)

point of no return after which Iran will have the technical expertise to enrich uranium in sufficient quantities to build a nuclear warhead in two to four years. Does it really take that long to build one nuclear weapon?

Is Sharon's nom de plume Uzi Mahnaimi or Sarah Baxter?

The statements are intended as a final effort to make Iran turn back from its present inclinations and to prepare world public opinion for an attack if that is necessary. Contrary to the fluff in the article, the IDF is ready at any given moment to make an attack, in the past, at present, in the future. And the Arabs know this very well.

This article is BS. A "covert" strike announced 4 months ahead of time on a "secret" nuclear base that everyone knows about.
If it's true, you can expect 3 thing - 1) Iran to be ready for them 2) lots of dead Israelis 3) failure.

Psst, Sharon your not to tell the enemy your plans, ok? That's OK -- they'll do it at night. No one will ever expect that! (or maybe Saturday?)

This is probably just to gauge what the Iranian reaction will be. Their new President has show that he is flippant of tonge. Feed the media some info knowing it will get to the enemy and watch and listen. Note all the un-named sources in the story. Sharon simply stated the obvious...We're getting ready. You knew that. Israel does not play (except with their enemies minds)...they can't afford to.

Agreed. Our advance notice to Iraq did so much to enable us to find the materiel that was convoyed out to Syria and buried in the desert.

Sharon has revealed nothing to the enemies of Israel. The first thing the enemy will hear is: "Mission accomplished", as they themselves stumble around in the rubble, mumbling, duh...... wha' happened????".

Count it as a regular disinformation piece. Whatever'll be done will be done in a surprise manner, like an ICBM warhead landing.

Myself I find Ariel Sharon a world class strategist and have full confidence in his judgment.
Von Moltke the Elder considered General George Washington as one of the greatest five strategists of all time. Von Moltke said that Washington was a master of the political aspect of war. Von Clausewitz pointed out that "War is an extension of politics by other means", meaning that politics and war are one thing, as in "the arm is an extension of the body". War is an extension of politics. Equally, you can say "War is an aspect of politics". The old story of Alexander the Great and his cutting of the Gordian knot is about this.
I shall watch events with interest. A Grand Master is at work.
