Exactly.
This author is so bending over backwards to show that he is not one of the Jews mentioned in your collection of misfits that he becomes stupid and offensive blaming all those "other" Jews.
I can't remember to which Freeper to give the credit, but someone made a very telling point recently.
If there is one city in the Nation where Jews have influence it's New York City.
The New York City tree is now and has always been called a Christmas Tree.
think of it as a shoe, whomever it fits can wear it..
What the public schools can or can't do in NYC- or in Topeka for that matter- is usually determined by rulings of the Federal Courts on the subject.
What percentage of the judiciary of the Federal Courts is Jewish? Even if every single Jewish judge was anti Christian, they wouldn't control a single final decision.
Thanks for the post.
Actually, some of us do. ;-) It's a distinction I hoped that this author would make, but didn't. Maybe he felt those of us who 'get it' already knew. But perhaps we who get it are the minority. The Jino's have help from the CINO's and Rino's as well. Where I live there is a large Catholic population, a majority. Yet it's Happy Holidays for all, in recent years, to be PC and 'tolerant'. Imagine my surprise when I was greeted by 'Happy Holidays' in the choir loft on Christmas Eve in my church by fellow Catholics! Even on that feast day, some Catholics won't greet each other in church with 'Merry Christmas'. The battle is being waged on all fronts, a bunch of grinches have united.
Cases need not go up individually.
If a school did something in Texas lets say, and a Federal Court there ruled a certain way, a ruling which was not overturned, then a school district in NYC would be advised by their counsel to follow that Texas decision or risk their own lawsuit.
That's what makes religion cases uniform nationwide.
And I go back to my original point. Even if it was the aim of every single Jewish lawyer and judge to make these laws anti Christian, they would be unable.
Which makes you right and the author wrong.
Damn....that may be the best most concise HOWL from a jewish conservative who is just as fed up as I am with all of this steady attack on our culture.
I was at an ornament party last weekend at a Jewish home with many Jews there. None of them seemed the least bit offended. (ornament party: bring ornaments or decorations...any Gomer knows what sort of Christmas season ornament to bring to a Christmas season party at a Jewish home with Jews there) ...a sense of perspective lost on those wishing to marginalize Christmas.
I am so happy to see folks fighting back.
But I would note that it truly is discouraging to see a fair number of FReepers either ambivalent about this or plain hostile to fighting back about Christmas. Eye opening.
I disagree completely.
It is high time to fight back or it will be marginalized forever.
We are not victims, we intend to prevail and preserve our culture.
is the author accurate here...if so it's one thing to say this and another for folks to believe that most Jews support this
down South at least they don't
The issues I have seen involve wishing someone a Happy Holidays in stores, etc.
Naming of trees in various location as Holiday instead of Christmas trees.
None of these issues occur under color of law.
I don't know the membership of the ACLU or similar organizations but I doubt today they are dominated by Jews.
But the issues above would not be of concern to organizations such as the ACLU anyway.
They are commercial decisions by business people.
Why they make such decisions only they- and their consultants- know.
I went to the Macy's site. Cool!
These commercial decisions are based on the perception that companies have over the issues.
And those perspectives are shaped by the drumbeat from the anti-Christmas and now the pro-Christmas which this year is finally geared up.
I think whatever legal grounds go back to Everson like nearly all screwy religious opinions here....and that danged letter Jefferson wrote to the Mass baptists they are all ga-ga over
this writer apparently knows a lot of fellow Jews with whom he disagrees with on this
that's not the case in Nashville
i saw a menorah yesterday at here Codes btw
since Christians are at least nominally 95% of the nation I'm not sure how to avoid these conflicts entirely.
That's a nice article. You of all people well know that if the Christians are put down there will be nothing between the mob and the Jews. And at that point a plaintive cry of "but I'm an aaaaa-theist" won't get them anything but more abuse before... well, we all know where the story ends.
I think it was a Mark Steyn column that was exploring the hypothesis that it was secularism in France that allowed the muslim problem to fester as it did, and left the French authorities helpless to face it down. Nature abhors a vacuum, and when religion is suppressed and stamped out (a process that has taken France a couple of hundred years to complete), something moves in to take its place.
Happy Holidays used to be ok until it became a way NOT to say Merry Christmas, or even mention "the holiday that no one dare speak its name." Now, I suggest people say Merry Christmas and a Happy Hannukah if they wish to be inclusive. There are no other overlapping festivals as far as I know, so the rest be damned.
Kwanzaa was invented by a thug, a criminal, and a racist who should be in prison, not teaching college, and it inculcates communist values. I don't approve of kwanzaa, so I won't wish anyone a happy kwaanza, except sardonically.
I don't think so, which is why I object to a piece like this.
He writes in generalities about:
Jewish judges, Jewish journalists, and the American Civil Liberties Union, at the forefront.
Seems those people should be in the public record. You and I should be able to cite these Jews.
Maybe you can. I can't at the moment.
And if you do find several Jewish Liberal journalists I will match you with an identical number of Conservative Jews whose opinion pieces will be "pro Christmas".
Thanks, FD, for this righteous article.
Burt Prelutsky is one of the top 10 greatest writers who happens to be Jewish on the planet.
God bless him.
