The Trinity Broadcasting Network has suspended Hal Lindseys television program, International Intelligence Briefing for the month of December, and possibly permanently. According to Lindseys website, his show was suspended because, Some at the network apparently feel that my message is too pro-Israel and too anti-Muslim. A phone call and email to TBN have not received a response yet. If and when TBN responds, Ill update this post.
In the interest of full disclosure, I should say that Im not in 100% agreement with all of Hal Lindseys statements, and Im also not the biggest fan of TBN. While many of their programs are quite enjoyable, I am troubled by others. I believe the opulent gold-gilded set of their Praise the Lord show sends the wrong message - one of worldly materialism. One person in the TBN hierarchy has made statements that I believe undermine orthodox Trinitarian doctrine. With that said, I dont watch enough of TBNs programming to make judgments beyond this. However, if TBN did suspend IIB for the reasons Lindsey has stated, this will be quite troubling. From what I have seen on Lindseys IIB show, he has done nothing more than express the truth regarding Islam and shared in Gods view of Israel. If Lindseys accusations are true, I have to wonder how much this decision has been influenced by a large, mainline denomination that has taken the disturbing step of divesting from Israel and blaming them for the fact that innocent Israelis get blown apart by Palestinian terrorists.
As more information is available on this, Ill share it.
Jack Van Impe has a understanding or supposed understanding of the Book of Revelation like no other person I have listened to.
you've nailed it. It's been awhile but I have read both books that go into great detail and research about that, by Dave Macpherson.
I think a lot of the characters TBN features, Rod Parsley, that singing prophet Kim Clement...their brains have been raptured.
Paul believed in the rapture.
I took a look at your "Hoax" link, and found the following:
>>>"When Jesus said in Matt. 24:32-34 that "this generation will not pass away," He was not referring to some future generation that would see the political nation of Israel established by the United Nations. He was referring to the generation alive at the time He spoke the words. His words were fulfilled. In 70 A.D. Jerusalem was utterly destroyed. "<<<
Something appears to be wrong with this statement. It stated that during the generation that Christ was present on earth in the flesh, or during the next 40 years, the following happened:
1. Many came in Christ's name, saying, I am Christ; and deceived many (Matt 24:5)
2. The people heard of wars and rumours of wars (Matt 24:6)
3. Nation rose against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there were famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. (Matt24:7)
4. The gospel of the kingdom was preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations. (Matt 24:14)
5. There was a great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to that time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days were shortened, there would have been no flesh saved. (Matthew 24:21-22)
6. Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun was darkened, and the moon did not give her light, and the stars fell from heaven, and the powers of the heavens were shaken. (Matt 24:29)
And so on . . .
I am unaware that any of those events occurred during the generation that was alive when Christ was on the earth. Can you clarify?
ehhh Jan doesn't. This one does :)
You picked my three favorite teachers. I still listen to Adrian Rogers on OnePlace.com. Dr. Stanley is my Senior Pastor...so, God has used him to influence my spirital walk and biblical knowledge.
Not sure if you were tracking...it's an example regarding putting actions to faith in accepting Christ.
I look forward to Hal Lindsey's program each week. Other than his program, 700 Club and John Hagee are the only other TBN programs I watch on TBN. I agree, the big hair and the gilded chairs are a bit much, and not in line with true Christianity standards, imho.
Oh, yes! I forgot, Dr. Charles Stanley is my all time favorite TV pastor. I also get him on radio. Lindsey is right about Israel. They are our only allies in the mid-East, and as Christians, we know that their land was given to them by God. I am against US meddling in Israeli affairs, to the extent that we advise giving land to the Palestinians. I agree that this will only bring disaster to Israel in the long run.
Yeah, TBN is like "Theology for retards"
But, as long as the checks clear, Jan can endlessly gurgle and cry about "little baby jesus" and continue to look like she walked through an Earl Scheib paintroom while it was doing Huggy Bear's pimpmobile.
Funny that no one seems to mind that Paul Crouch made his male driver perform sexual acts on him.
And they say the Catholic church has problems...
Dr. Stanley is Awesome! he is so real and inspiring....
I watch those same programs and find them to be very informative..
If Hal Lindsey was suspended, does that mean he was Raptured?
You're kidding right? The Van Impes, Lindsey, and as a matter of fact Hagee at times (not to mention Hinn and a few others) do a great disservice to spreading the Gospel message. Everytime you turn it on the world's ending tomorrow or they're laying some poor sap out on the stage with a right hook they call laying on off hands
Brilliant! LOL! What a great show that was.
Dietrich would be amused.
Paul believed in the rapture.
I agree, however, Paul didn't believe in two second comings, only one, and he taught it as taking place after the tribulation. He did not teach a "pretrib" rapture. A pretrib rapture is not in scripture.
Neither did Jesus teach a rapture before the tribulation, read Matt. 24.
LMAO
