The Trinity Broadcasting Network has suspended Hal Lindseys television program, International Intelligence Briefing for the month of December, and possibly permanently. According to Lindseys website, his show was suspended because, Some at the network apparently feel that my message is too pro-Israel and too anti-Muslim. A phone call and email to TBN have not received a response yet. If and when TBN responds, Ill update this post.
In the interest of full disclosure, I should say that Im not in 100% agreement with all of Hal Lindseys statements, and Im also not the biggest fan of TBN. While many of their programs are quite enjoyable, I am troubled by others. I believe the opulent gold-gilded set of their Praise the Lord show sends the wrong message - one of worldly materialism. One person in the TBN hierarchy has made statements that I believe undermine orthodox Trinitarian doctrine. With that said, I dont watch enough of TBNs programming to make judgments beyond this. However, if TBN did suspend IIB for the reasons Lindsey has stated, this will be quite troubling. From what I have seen on Lindseys IIB show, he has done nothing more than express the truth regarding Islam and shared in Gods view of Israel. If Lindseys accusations are true, I have to wonder how much this decision has been influenced by a large, mainline denomination that has taken the disturbing step of divesting from Israel and blaming them for the fact that innocent Israelis get blown apart by Palestinian terrorists.
As more information is available on this, Ill share it.
There is no such thing as being too pro-Israel or too anti-Muslim!
Baptist Ping.
Well crouch is no friend of ISLAM as he has Muslims on his show that are now Christians trying to convert many muslims or educate them about Christianity.
I like the "Drive thru History" program. It has educated me on the jistorical background of the New Testament, and the host does it in a fun interesting way.
Sounds as Crouch and Lindsey might of had some major creative differences...
Well, that is good. At least they know the Truth and they are going to Heaven now.
For the most part I find TBN very embarrassing. I wouldn't want to be associated with them.
Sounds like it, but I dont understand it. I mean, I watch Hal's show, and he never has said anything nasty agianst muslims. Heck, most of his shows are 85% quotes from the bible. I would think that Paul Crouch would WANT muslims to see that.
That is my sentiments as well. Ray Comfort says he sometimes gives away money when he's evangelizing and says that he's embarrassed about how TV preachers are always asking for money, so he hands some out. He also then uses their action in taking it to illustrate how accepting Christ is an action...not just a belief. One can believe in the money, but to actually HAVE the money one must put action to that belief and reach out for it.
Time will certainly tell whether they are whack jobs or not.
In my experience however, the only whack jobs out there are the ones calling everyone else names.
It is quite interesting to have Dr. Stanley's teaching in the midst of the other crazy TBN programming. Typically I am only able to have TBN on for a minute until I have to reach for the clicker.
Yes Dr. Stanley and John Haggee are the preachers I watch they make sense biblically and socially reaching out to people in a way that makes people think with A sound mind about GOD, their destiny and how they live life.
Ask Paul Crouch about his boyfriend the chauffeur!
(of course, having to be married to Jan would make anyone gay)
Does this mean the world ends tomorrow?
Well, the station cant really discriminate against some christian pastors or leaders and allow others no matter how nutty they are. I mean, look who owns the station. They are nuts themselves.
It Could I guess..:)are ya ready?
The latter is debatable.
Ditto.
You'd know!
Dang tootin' I am ready;-)
