Remember what we in the West used to say about the media in communist Russia? Pravda was an "instrument" of those in power and an obvious propaganda tool; we used to say that one could easily "read between the lines" and almost, just reverse whatever was printed, to ascertain a truer picture of life in the USSR Ditto.
