That's nothing. Trailer parks cause tornados.

Not to mention coatal areas cause tsunamis.

That is some serious accupuncture!
Seriously, how pompous are these scientists? They say the world is billions of yeas old and has gone through many ice ages, but we are wrecking it with just 100 years of automobiles. Now they think tectonic plate movement can be affected by building a building? Good grief.

No, it's the bombs in Iraq that caused that earthquake that caused the tsunami. DU said so.

And let's not forget that the latest global warming threat is a change in the Gulf Stream that will cause a mini-Ice Age in Europe. I just love pseudo-science.

Trailer parks cause tornados I was thinking of putting a single wide at the end of my property to keep the tornados from hitting my house.

Did you read the article about how a structural engineering firm in Tokyo "faked" calculations for determining the gauge of steel beams, under pressure from the developers to save money.
They have already knocked 43 buildings in which this firm participated in the construction.
I can just hear the plan after the quake knocked over the buildings.
"I swear, I sar Godzirra running through the city during the quake."

Ahhh, so it really WAS Bush's fault!!

WTF are they doing building such a tall skyscraper on a KNOWN fault line anyway. MORON's!
To: P.O.E.
Not as far-fetched as it sounds. Think of the earth's crust as ice floes on a lake.
I believe it was when they were filling Lake Mead they discovered that the weight of water being added to the tectonic plate there was triggering small tremors. (One acre-foot of water weighs 2.7 million pounds.)
They slowed down the rate of fill as a result, to allow the plate to adjust.
I can believe that adding tens of millions of pounds to a small area could cause stress on the plate. If the plate were already stressed, this could be the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.
