I'm not a Cruise-hater, but when I initially read this story, I was appalled and worried for that poor baby. The arrogance and entitlement that canceled out any common sense of concern for their child....I hope those two get a wake-up call.

So....let the feeding frenzy begin.

First the American Psychiatric Association slammed the actor for referring to psychiatry as a "pseudoscience," calling Cruise's remarks "irresponsible."

Hmm. Is is a Science, or an Art?

I felt the same way. When I read this I told my mom how dangerous this could be. I mean are they going to do 20 ultrasounds on that innocent baby? What a couple of kooks. This is the reason Tom had to impregnate a young kid - she has got to be the most naive and gullible kid to come down the pike in a long while. And she can't even act that great - they make a great pair.

there are unknown side effects from too ultrasounds. I hope he realizes this. That is why they have trained professionals managing this equipment.

It's apparent from the many episodes that he has "oppositional-defiant disorder" and is a pathological control freak.

The couch-jumping thesp told Walters that he did not know the sex of his offspring, but that he saw "a little baby" when he performed the ultrasound.

Oh really? His rabid pro-abortion Hollywood friends are not gonna like his terminology.

I don't know what happens to celebrities when they reach a certain pinnacle in their careers and lives. They think they truly think they are above mere mortals.

I worked on a production in the 1980's which starred AMY IRVING. She was married to Spielberg at the time. She had just found out she was pregnant. He actually came to the set, gathered everyone around, and told us how he expected Amy to be treated now that she's pregnanat because she was carrying the next "Messiah." Now, you may think that's funny, but the man did not say it for laughs. It was scary.

Notice that nobody ever describes just what "harm" or "risk" there is to the baby. It's just a bunch of hand-wringing warnings, but no specifics.

Ultrasound is just that: sound waves. What harm are we supposed to believe is going to be done to the child by sound waves -- not even sound waves of an audible frequency!

Yes, Tom Cruise is a moonbat. But this is pure self-serving hysteria-mongering by the medical community.

LOL, I read the title and thought Cruise was having a problem with one of those new numbers puzzles... you know, the puzzles with the nine tic-tac-toe squares where you have to fill in the numbers 1 - 9 without having the same number twice in any row or column?

I thought, "Man, this Tom Cruise is completely over the edge now."

Tom is arrogance and entitlement embodied, good point. He has totally lost it and Katie follows him around like a lap dog. I don't know if a wake up call to him would get through, but to Katie I say, 'RUN'. Run fast and far. Her parents are right to be concerned about her. And now the baby, too.

I read this story yesterday, and my immediate reaction was one of Holy Smokes Batman!! Hollywood is probably even angrier than the medical establishment at this point. Mr. Cruise called the mass of cells in Miss Holmes' body, "a little baby."

Of course, it's never arrogance when it's a DOCTOR doing it, huh?

"This is a patient safety issue. Untrained people, even if they have the financial means, should not buy, or be allowed to buy and operate, ultrasound machines which are, in fact, medical devices and should not be used without a medical indication," said Dr. Carol M. Rumack, chair of the ACR Ultrasound Commission.

Also, if it is not medically necessary, the use of ultrasound raises unnecessary physical risk to the fetus."

Like what?! Cruise may be a nut, but the people complaining about this -- and suggesting that private parties should not be "allowed" to purchase a machine -- probably only oppose broader ultrasound access because it 1.) makes doctors seem less God-like, and 2.) undermines abortion.

Tom Cruise isn't going do be doing any sonograms. Top ob/gyns and technicians will be making daily housecalls to TomKat's house, for sure. I'm not defending Tom Cruise; I'm merely making the point that TomKat's child's troubles in life will begin after it's born.

American College of Radiology is up in arms over Cruise's admission that he purchased a sonogram machine and uses it to perform at-home ultrasounds on fiancee Katie Holmes.

The ACR issued a statement warning that Cruise and Holmes could potentially harm their unborn baby by performing ultrasounds without the benefit of a doctor's supervision

THE HYPOCRISY! Only certified ultrasound professionals can screen babies for the abortionists knife.
