My prayers are with the officer and his family.
I don't know what's going on, but here in the Sacramento area, we've had two officers killed in traffic related accidents and one CHP officer shot and killed in a roadside stop. It sickens me to see officers killed in something like an accident but having a cop killer on the loose after he murdered the CHP officer was not good. If you're at the point where you'd kill an officer, you know they'd have no problems killing civilians.

The gunman, Stephen Lance Heard, 39, a convicted felon on parole, shot Nava as the officer opened the door to a bedroom while searching a mobile home, according to arrest warrant affidavits released Wednesday. This is why we love K9s for building searches.

Heavenly Father, we return to thank You for the tremendous outpouring of prayer on behalf of this brave Officer ... may it be, Merciful Father, that the medical team is so empowered with Your wisdom and skill, that Officer Nava will not only survive his wounds, but return to the fullness of health. Take pity, O Lord, upon his frantic wife and children ... have mercy, O Lord, upon his fellow officers ... hear the cries of a community and a nation, O Lord, that he might live. In the Name of Jesus, we pray, Amen ...

O Lord, please hear our prayer. We lift up Henry Nava to you and ask that you touch him and heal him of the destruction that was done to him by the gunman. It looks bad, God, but you can do it. Only you can knit Henry back together again. Please have mercy on his wife and children, who love him so much. Lord, they need him; his friends and other loved ones need him. Please restore Henry to complete health. We put this situation in your hands. We trust that you are in total control. We give you all the glory for whatever you decide. We pray these things in the name of your precious Son, Jesus. Amen.

Holy Father,
You hold Officer Nava's life in Your hand. We ask You, Lord, to restore this man to complete health, that he may continue to serve the people of his city. Father, his family needs him. We confess that nothing is too difficult for You, and we know that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think. By Your grace, O Lord, we pray for Your servant's perfect healing and restoration, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
