A senior U.N. official said on Tuesday the United Nations might have to delay paying salaries if the United States followed through on its threat to hold up the two-year $3.9 billion budget.
Yippee!!!!

All sounds good to me. The UN can take a hike for all I care. Why finance an organization that is trying to undermine you?
To: ncountylee
As you say, the whole thing is about salaries.
Dump this bunch of useless sullen bureaucrats. Who needs them?

He told a news conference that 75 percent of the world body's costs were salaries and it would have to borrow from peacekeeping funds in a complex operation that would need General Assembly approval.
Until the Winter of 2004, the NHL had a similar structure. We have all seen what that did to the NHL now haven't we?

Create the problems, awready. I'd love to see Kofi frog-walked for shoplifting or driving off before paying
for his gasoline.

I say we pay them a small stipend, and send the U.N. on their way to headquarter in some country that shares their ideals for a democratic world. North Korea comes to mind.

it would have to borrow from peacekeeping funds in a complex operation that would need General Assembly approval.
Oh like that would be hard to do.....
This, in turn, would delay monies due to nations contributing troops. Sach estimated a $25 million shortfall in the first quarter if the budget were delayed.
Huh ?! The peace keeping nations get paid to send their troops ? This undoubtedly means I'm paying France with my tax dollars for sending its soldiers to Africa to rape the women. Ugh!
Can we let Al Qaida back in the US as long as they promise to only pick on the UN ?
