War hero and felon. Too bad.
To: byteback
He shouldn't be allowed to set foot back in the House or remain a Congressman after being convicted. Not even for a few weeks.

Randy was a guest speaker for a Manila based US naval organiztion in 1983. Showed 'first hand' cockpit dogfight video taken from Isreali a/c vs Syrian MIGs. Duke was a great pilot, scuba parnter and friend to all of us. He has served his nation honorably for many years.

Another photo taken in 1972. Too bad for a few NVA pilots that he didn't have "other priorities."

Crap. He didn't have to do this. Duke should be remembered for winning the greatest single air-to-air engagement of the Vietnam War, the encounter between "Showtime 100" and the MiG-17 of the fabled "Colonel Tomb".
The fool threw his entire hard-won reputation away. This is the guy who helped to found Fighter Weapons School.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

Duke Cunnigham pleads guilty to felony. It is indeed a tragedy how such a patriot could have become so corrupt.
When's the special election to replace him? Hopefully a conservative Republican can get 50% in the primary so that we can avoid having to wait a couple of months for a run-off. I'd hate a repeat of what happened in Cox's CD when Gilchrist kept Campbell from getting the extra 4% he needed for a majority, which would have allowed Campbell to get sworn in immediately instead of having to wait 2 months during which time his district has gone unrepresented.

We really are faced with a Culture of Corruption in the Republican Party of today. Don't forget that the Duke has been allowed to keep his seat even after information surfaced earlier this year of his financial and political improprieties. If the Duke had been a Dem he would have lost his subcommittee seat many moons ago.

Duke was the first US fighter Ace of Vietnam. May have shot down the famous Col Toon as his 5th victory.
My heart is broken.

It is indeed a tragedy how such a patriot could have become so corruptHow is it a tragedy? Any person that rises to the level to run for office in Washington DC has by default some corruption in their past. You don't think those hacks do it because they care about their constituency do you?

And IIRC, getting himself and his fellow officer back home despite having
the rear half of his plane finally burn off.
I got scared just watching the animated re-enactment on The History Channel.

Exactly what I said about McCain and John Glenn after they admitted to being bribed by Charles Keating. Duke should resign effective yeaterday and let the people of his district elect someone hones. That in my mind is more hornable than McCain and Glenn sitting in the Seante and preaching to us about honesty. Vote for McCain? Not in this life.
