Bitterness explains part of it. The other part is that he is getting a little foggy in his old age, and should have retired before this term. We have good Republicans in Indiana (Steve Buyer and Mike Pence) but until Lugar retires and/or Bayh loses we are not going to get them to run.
I understand, and it's a tough dilema. I've never been impressed by Lugar. He was a warm body in a seat as far as I was concerned.
Look, as bad as he is, at least he's no Boxer or Feinstein, although folks like him CAN frustrate you to no end.
Lugar can thank President Bush for is Committee Chairmanship, it was his hard work that got the Majority back after that senile old Goat turncoat Jumpin Jim Jeffords put the Pubbies in the Minority. He needs to stop acting like he is senile and a lackey for the Dems, or move over and retire. He wanted that leadership job so bad, I am wondering when he is going to lead? I believe half of his problem is that he may feel that if he says something too positive for the Pubbies against the Dems that they will not invite him back. He is probably right, but he is gutless and not a team player if he chooses his ego over our Security and The lives of our Military.
