MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Sens. Joe Biden, D-Del., and John Warner, R-Va.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Authors James Reston Jr., Ellen Fitzpatrick, Joseph Ellis and Stephen Carter.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Mowaffak al-Rubaie, Iraq's national security adviser; Henry Kissinger, former secretary of state; Zbigniew Brzezinski, former national security adviser; Peggy Noonan, author; Nathaniel Fick, retired Marine captain and author; Evan Wright, Rolling Stone editor and author.
I love your Sunday Talk show line-up....I would definitely "tune in"...LOL
There would be some spirited debate....but, as I respect all of those posters much more than most of the people the actual talk shows have...I would pay a lot more attention.
Thanks. I appreciate the link.
"Yeah, they should have Meet The Freepers or Face the Informed"
followed by:
"Late Edition Right Wing Cabal"-the last truthful word on the Sunday talk shows
and the sure to be popular:
"This Wonky Week on ABC" where we could disect & resection all the latest polls word for word, interviewee by interviewee....this one could run 24/7interspersed with commercials on how to take our national temperature without vaseline!
I think everyone will be OK about posting next time, and we mostly agree on a huge number of things. Where there is a Mexican Standoff we must agree to disagree and walk away so that we can build up the thread and not get caught up in a logjam. Our President, our Country, our Defense and our Amazing Military are reasons to grow closer together not farther apart.
Thanks I get it, does that include plastic palm trees?
I went a little over the top on that last post, I wish I could have it back..
Hope you have a good one.
Four historians are the guests, and each is doing his best to describe our nation in terms that make the President look terrible without using one sentence that charges him with a single tangible fact.
#####
I heard this dialogue on the radio. What a circle you-know-what of second guessers! All they do is reinforce their own prejudices. Historians. bah!
Isn't Joseph Ellis the "distinguished" historian who told his students for almost 3 decades that he was a Vietnam veteran?
Are there three more useless Senators in the entire US Senate?
I nominate my WA State senators......
Personally, I'd like a show with Miss Marple, anita and others to simply explain the truth to the audience. There is more deconstruction of Democrats lies on FR than any other place I know of.
Me, too. Us regular Sunday show viewers/critiquers need to start telling the networks that we're on to them regarding Biden, McCain, Hagel, Lugar, etc. We want fresh blood! And if they're going to have on a Republican, make sure it's a real one and not some old stammering, tottering RINO!
Morgan, I agree in principle w what you've said. However, I know that there are at least several Republicans that agree with the President at any one time on a given issue. On those issues they could get their main points of discussion in their heads and discuss why they agree w the Pres and why the Dims are wrong. Likewise, if they do not totally agree, they could say, we think our plan is better than the President's plan on X because yada, yada, yada and we want to work with him and others to formulate the best plan on X for the American people. Unfortunately, some of them get in front of a camera and cannot and/or do not respond effectively to the Dims attacks or putting the Republicans points and plans forward. The Pubbies don't have the MSM behind them (for the most part, it's just the opposite) so they need to be able to articulate the truths well in front of the camera when they do have the chance.
As we all know, a lie told often enough becomes the 'truth'.
I don't want the Republicans to lie, but if they repeat the truths in a similar way often enough perhaps those will become the 'truths' to the American people and give them more insight to the Dims lies and spin.
At the risk of getting involved in an agruement that I don't want to be in....
PLEASE do not quit posting...your posts are very important to me...I enjoy reading them....just as I enjoy the others that are involved in this "debate" from last week..and continued today....
I would ask you and others to please at least post the freeper's name at the top when referring to them...it is considered discourteous to critisize a poster without letting them know....
But...you are a great poster...don't give up on the thread.
I do that, and assume I'm not alone. I'll often put the words To The Producer in the subject line, along with the comment, hoping they will pay attention to it more.
Doubtful if the grifters ever pay for anything.
I am not a "guest commentator" I am the Announcer!
Biden lost ALL credibility (if he ever had much)...when he said on one of these talk shows, back when the subject of President Bush's SCOTUS nominees was first being discussed...
and he touted his postition as a professor of Constitutional Law....but, in the same interview said that the Supreme Court's job was to MAKE LAW.
Not only do these shows pick who THEY want on...they PAY the Senators and House members to fly in for the interview, if they are back home...or elsewhere...which I find offensive.
Okay...I am working on it....but, I think the tryptophan in Thursday's turkey has affected my "intelligence and wit" cells in my brain....
may have to wait until next week when I have completed Thankgiving withdrawal!!
I think just saying that makes a huge difference. I try to imagine what I would say if the person were in front of me instead of thousands of cyber miles away, and I sometimes stop and rewrite what I typed sometimes, not always. If I am talking about the Dems forgiddaboutit! Katie bar the door. LOL!
