What kind of moron, who is a billionaire and running for President, grossly undertips?

A good tip might be worth a half dozen votes.

Naturally Leftists are poor tippers. They think their mere presence is enough compense to all the "lowly workers."

If Leftists weren't invariably atheists, they'd think they were God's gift to God.

My boss treated us to dinner a couple weeks ago. So I tipped. When I gave 20% of the bill at least half the table chastized me telling me I'd never get rich that way & the rich never tip much at all. They tried to get me to take some off the table!

I told them I'm already rich. My life is blessed.

I think EVERYONE in life should work in a restaurant setting. It gives you an understanding of actually WORKING for your pay. When these liberal wealthy folk stiff them - shame on them!

I'm no fan of any of these guys but a tip should be what the customer sees the extra service is worth. We only have the servers viewpoint here. I have been to places where I left a minimal or no tip. If it is automatically deducted I ask to opt out. If I can't I don't add any more.

I think part of the problem is that none of these "special" people has ever been a waiter, or held any other real-life job. People who've been there are much more likely to be polite to a waiter (and tip an adequate one generously), and to be pleasant to a store clerk, security guard, etc.

(Note to self, make sure all offspring work at least one service job.)

Minimum tip, 20%. If the service was really good, it can go as high as 50%.

And if, as chef, I get tipped by a client, I split the tip with the kitchen, including the dish-washer. $600 was the largest tip I ever received. My kitchen was very happy that night.

Thanks for posting this! My son is a waiter and we are having a good laugh. He hasn't ever waited on a celebrity, none would dare dine where he works, but he has some interesting stories about people and their tipping habits.

Many don't realize that not only do they earn well below minimum wage, they also have to give a percentage of their food SALES to the busboy and bartender.

Does this surprise anybody? The cheapest, most money hungry people in the world are liberals.

That is why they always want more of YOUR money.

Of all of those I can't believe the John Kerry one-after all it is not his money-it's Theeeeraaaaza'a he didn't lift a finger for it-you would think he, as is his fashion, would be a little more "liberal" with it.

I always ask the following question on tip threads: when calculating the 20%, does one use the pre- or post-tax total?

'It Takes A Village To Tip A Waitress,' Says Right-Wing Web Site

Who says members of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy don't have a heart?

As news percolated through the Internet Friday that Hillary Clinton had
accepted a hearty free breakfast at an upstate New York diner and then
stiffed the waitress out of her tip, charter VRWC members at the Web site
Free Republic were taking pledges to make up for the First Freeloader's
stinginess.

As of Saturday morning, the "It Takes A Village To Tip A Waitress Fund" had
collected over $250.00 in pledges.

Within 24 hours of its first report in the Washington Times, the story of the
Hillary's snub of "Trish" the waitress (her boss at the "Village House" diner
in Albion, N.Y., won't release her full name) had become a defining moment in
Clinton's bid to become that state's next U.S. senator.

The First Freeloader initially ordered oatmeal to go, so the story goes. But
then Her Stinginess ripped up her diet and ordered up scrambled eggs topped
with cheese, hash browns and rye toast. Next, when she thought nobody was
looking, she wolfed down a second helping of eggs.

The cholesterol-laden Senate candidate thanked her hosts and made a beeline
for the door - without leaving so much as a penny tip for poor Trish, who not
only had to schlep all that food to Her Hungriness, she's also a struggling
single mom who works for below minimum wage and has to pay her own health
insurance.

NewsMax.com is happy to endorse any worthy charity, especially this one:

Those who want to help "Trish" can visit Free Republic's "It Takes A Village
To Tip A Waitress" Web page. Or simply send your donation to:

I'll have to defend John Kerry here. I did the math, and he tipped 2 and a half percent, not just 2 percent.

A HISTORY LESSON

Beer and evolution and other facts The two most important events in all of
history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel
was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern
civilization, and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity
into two distinct subgroups: Liberals and Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered it required grain, and that was the beginning of
agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can was invented yet, so
while our early human ancestors were sitting around waiting for them to be
invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were
formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while
they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the
Conservative movement. Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting
learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ and
doing the sewing, fetching and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the
Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became
known as girliemen. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the
domestication of cats, the trade union, the invention of group therapy and
group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the
meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most
powerful land animal on earth,!
the elephant.

Liberals are symbolized by the jackass. Modern liberals like imported beer
(with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water.
They eat raw fish, but like their beef well done.
Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another evolutionary
side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their
men.

Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in
Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the
designated hitter rule in baseball, because it wasn't fair to make the
pitcher also bat.
Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for
their women. Conservatives are rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction
workers, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, soldiers,
athletes, and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own
companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and
decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe that Europeans are
more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained
in Europe when conservatives were coming to America. The liberals crept in
after the Wild West was tamed, and created a business of trying to get MORE
for nothing.

And you thought history was boring!

I expected to see Clinton on this list. All I can figure is he must give a ten percent tip, but he is probably spending someone else's money, and he probably leaves with the silverware in his pocket.

Usually, the fine dining enjoyed by the Kerrys and the Edwards doesn't require gratuities.

Seeing the amount of some of the bills in the story made me wonder if the dining party was large, i.e. 8-10 people. If so, often there is already a 15%-or-more gratuity already included in the bill.

BTW, I've been in restaurants many times in such instances where the waiter neglects to inform the person picking up the bill that a tip has already been included, knowing that many customers will unknowingly tip an additional 15-20%.

I'm surprised none of them pulled a Hillary Klinton and just walked out without paying in front of the entire staff and then sneered about it when asked by the media. Now that's arrogance! Of course, I haven't been to the website yet, so who knows what I'll find?

In addition to watching the way your date treats service help, watch the way he treats his parents. I once almost was arrested for getting physical with a 16 year old boy who was so horribly disrespectful to his parents during a Passover Seder. It was the most out of character thing I've ever ever done. The little S**T insulted his Father in such a crass and vicious way in front of a table of strangers and family (His Father's little old parents too). When nobody did or said anything, I took things into my own hands...literally...Long story short, I got the kid into a room on the next level of the house, pushed him on a chair and read him the riot act. the kid threatened to call the police (I dared him to)..then I went back to the table and told his girlfriend, who was sitting at the table...you can tell the way a man will treat you by the way he treats his parents and if I were her, I'd run like the wind.

I then made him apologize to his Father, in front of everyone by telling him that I'd leave if he were to do so. He did, but then the parents told me they didn't want me to leave. The kid stormed to his room. The parents called me the next day and thanked me (can you imagine). But I was never invited to their home again! LOL!
